My nephew wanted this and he loves it. Need to warn parents--lots of blocks. But hours of fun for kids. He really enjoyed putting it together and was proud of himself. It goes with other pieces in this collection.
I purchased this for my son who is a mega blok and lego collector. He is a huge halo fan and has been looking for this gunship for quite some time. Great value and many pieces to add to your collection for future builds. One aspect I was not thrilled with was the shipping. It took way too long to get to us, completely unacceptable when compared to other online suppliers.
My 11-year-old son got this from Santa. He loves it. It is what he has always wanted. It is fairly easy for him to figure out. A lot of pieces, but well worth it.
But found it interesting that I was in the same store the day before and asked if they carried the mega blocks and they hunted through out the store and no Mega Blocks, Came home (20 minutes away) ordered it online and received a message about 4 hours later that I could pick it up. So it was in the back room all the time. Probally a good idea to have all merchandise on the floor and not hiding in the back room. Thanks it all worked out. Merry Christmas
The directions are a bit tedious. Seperating all the blocks into like groups is an absolute must. But, once it's built it's awesome. Really detailed and looks like it does in the games. Lots of fun .
My son received the Pelican for Christmas and loves it. It took two days for him to put together. Great sound effects. The hatch on top sometimes comes off when he lifts it, but overall he enjoys the set. Great minifigs as well - especially the one that lights up.
Completed this in a day, although it took forever for shipment to arrive. But when we got it put her all together its gteat, I wish mega blocks would have more Halo available in stores than call of duty or star trek legos!
My son wanted this for Christmas, it was 130 at toys r us, and 80 at walmart...it is a lot of pieces. It has not yet been put together, but will be. He has several sets of these blocks and they are just as good as lego.
We are Lego veterans and it took a combined 7 hrs to build this monster. Mega blocks instructions are somewhat vague at times but we used the online instructions at you can blow those up enough to see. My son hasn't stopped playing with it since we finished it. Weighs like 5 pounds!
After our grandson received this set as a gift. Upon opening it, we found that the wrong set was in the box. We returned it and ordered the same set from the online store. When it came, we discovered that it had a wrong piece which made it impossible to continue the construction. We returned this set to another Walmart and exchanged it for two smaller sets. Each of those two Halo sets had pieces missing. We have purchased other Halo sets from other outlets with no issues. I don't know if this is a Halo issue or a Walmart issue, but we have not been happy with the experience.
