I bought the Olympus VN-8100PC to record my college lectures. Since I'm a college student, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a recorder, but I still wanted a good quality. This product was the perfect fit! I was very pleasantly surprised at how clearly it picks up the voices of my professors. It's just as good (if not better) than all of my friends' who paid nearly $100 for their recorders. It's also super easy to transfer the files to my computer. I record in mp3 format and they automatically open in my iTunes when I plug it in. I would definitely recommend this recorder!
I like that it has two format of recording: WMA and MP3. For the MP3 format, even a very light sound can be recorded into it. I love this procduct and my friend wants to get one as well.
The Time Stamp feature is very helpful in quickly finding your place.
Love this recorder- plenty of room for recordings- over 300hours!! i dont recommend the lowest quality settings to maximize record time- it compromises quality too much.. set it to a medium setting, then just off-load the files to your pc.. NO SPECIAL SOFTWARE NEEDED!! just plug it in, then drag the wma or mp3 files over to your PC. Nice big display, speed options dont affect pitch. play back come in on both ears though recordings are mono. strongly recommend!
