nice small size, lite weight, easy to carry in purse and hold in hand - but to learn how will be my problem. I am not a techie and freak when I see all those words on the instruction sheet that mean nothing to me... so I am waiting for my friend to teach me how to record and delete - that's all I want it for... he is a man of great patience so I am certain I will use this recorder on a regular basis very soon. Summary: small, good sound, simple design - don't hesitate.
I have an Olympus WS-802 at work and I liked it so much I bought one for my person use. Easy to operate and great sound quality.
WS-802 is very compact, powered by one AAA battery with very clear recording of just about any sound. The small playback speaker is very clear with good volume. Will record PCM which is supposed to be cd quality sound. The microphones have excellent distance recording capability. Appears to be quality constructed.
I ordered this unit for use in class. The unit works flawlessly. Excellent quality, and clarity of recordings.....However... when I ordered this unit, I also made another order from Sweden. The order from half way around the world arrived here a full week earlier than the Walmart order. The tracking data was off, saying it should have been delivered two days prior to it's actual delivery, and showed it sitting here in Columbus for a full four days. They used some strange hybrid of UPS, and USPS, which is where I suspect the fault lay. While I am extremely happy with the item, I will never order from Walmart online again.
