Set up was great, but I seem to have my fan running all the time. I put the wires where they are suppose to go. I called my AC guy to come back out to verify they hooked them up correctly on the air handler.
This thermostat is absolutely amazing! 5 stars out of 5! First and most important: The remote sensor is (likely) an RF device. It's NOT an IP device. You do not need to connect the thermo to your Wifi if you don't want to! This is a HUGE plus for me! Just follow the easy instructions to set up the remote sensor! The thermo's screen walks you through this! The thermo is very flexible in how it is configured. Downstairs I have it set so that the system is controlled just based on the remote sensor. Further the more you play with your options the more you learn! "Oh! I can set everything down for the midnight hours when no one is downstairs! And it's perfectly nice when I get up!" Right now I am going to order a unit for upstairs!
I purchased two T-9 thermostats for our two-zone home. One with a sensor and the other without. My expectation was to integrate the system with Apple home kit. But at this time, it does not but as a back-up, we are using google home to monitor and control the temperature. Pros: 1. As a DIY person, the installation was very easy and took about 15 minutes each including setting up communication with wifi and the Honeywell app. 2. Setting up the app was very easy and scheduling cooling/heating times was very easy as well 3. Setting up remote sensor was easy as well as programming it to the app Cons: 1. Does not integrate with Apple homekit. (I should have read the installation instructions) 2. This one is my biggest con. The display never dims out. The display keeps a white backlight on when not on and keeps a bright orange backlight when activated. I guess it could be a Pro if you want to have a nightlight on 24/7. 3. No backplate provided as other models have. I had to get touchup paint to cover the 1/4" non-painted areas covered by the previous Honeywell Thermostats. Overall, easy to install and works well with google smart home apps after converting from Home kit to Google assistant.
Easy to install, looks beautiful, very user friendly. The remote sensor allows me to control the temperature where I need it, which is not where the thermostat is installed. I liked very much, so I bought another T9 to replace a Honeywell RTH8580WF in the hallway by my bedroom. Now the temperature in my bedroom is so much better controlled
Very easy to wire up and to get set up to use. Handy to use with the app even when I am not there.
What I dislike is that I ordered a Honeywell T9 WIFI Smart thermostat with Room Smart sensor, but did not receive any sensor. The thermostat works great once the app finds it, but Walmart is deceiving saying that I would also get a sensor for the price. Now I have to figure out how to get that cheating corrected!
Just bought this from Best Buy and I keep having the problem of trying to add a sensor. Thermostat continually says “Can't Enter Enroll Mode.” Any suggestions? I feel like I've tried almost everything except replacing it.
While I am satisfied with the product as a hole, I cannot understand why a design feature has failed, why support only offers circular reasoning, and they cannot fix the issue. The feature that can send an email if an under/over temp or humidity problem exists, sends that email, using a light gray font on a white background that can barely be read indoors and completely impossible outdoors. Support says that cannot be fixed. Perhaps they should discontinue that feature altogether as it is useless. If this is not important to anyone, then the T9 is a good choice.
I already had a Honeywell T5 and wanted to get the T9 because of the remote sensor, it was only a matter to pop the new T9 onto the old base without any change in wiring. I waited in anticipation for the setup display to light up and when it did I got a BIG Triangle stating "Factory Test Error". Now I have to send it back and hope the new one works and lasts.
I have a new T9 thermostat but I live in the UK and would like a wiring diagram with more detail than what is in the product book as it's really not the best.
