PRO: Looking for a smartphone that won't break the bank (or the National Debt)? This smartphone is highly recommended. Great audio (voice, music, voice mail, GPS), large, easy to read screen, smooth swipe and scrolling action, great QWERTY keyboard (in landscape mode), this smartphone has most of what you might want or need that the bigger, more complex, (read EXPENSIVE) smartphones have. Picture quality is dazzling and internet (data) connection is quite fast, even for 2G areas. CON: Memory. With only 4GB on the phone, pictures and apps run out of memory very quickly and there is no way I have discovered yet, to expand the memory. If you are NOT into massive data downloads, or voluminous picture-taking, this phone is perfect; however, if you are, then look elsewhere.
I bought an Iphone 3gs and my husband bought this phone on a whim; spur of the moment. (which is usually a bad idea) A week and a half later I searched every Wal-Mart within 20 miles for this phone to buy myself one. As soon as I got it, I put my Iphone on the market. It has great wifi distance, tons of apps, Big screen, I love it...
I bought this phone for my wife based on the reviews, and I do not regret it. I am extremely happy with the phone because its performance is a lot like the expensive ones, and the screen size and resolution make it look awesome. It is very light weight, and very handy. I would recommend this phone to anyone that is thinking of buying a galaxy SII or SIII, you don't have to pay more, this is the phone you want.
A phone under $200 that does everything...at least for me. I use my smartphone for occasional surfing, like during my commute, or when I'm in the can. I do not download everything under the sun, so 1.8GB of apps storage is sufficient for me. I can read my news, email, whatsapp, listen to Pandora, check soccer scores and update my Facebook, all very comfortably on the 4.5" screen. I have downloaded all the apps I need, and I still have 1gb left. My 16gb microsd card from the old phone stores my media files from the camera and music downloads, so frankly speaking, this phone is PERFECT! Last but not least, kudos to Walmart for the Fedex-kinko site-to-store pickup option. I am never home to sign for packages during business hours and there are FedEx stores all over NYC, open till late.
My son chose this phone as a replacement for his original phone which was damaged-thank goodness I purchased the 2 year accidental replacement plan!!! He LOVES this phone! He stated that the reception and speed of the phone is just terrific! I would highly recommend this phone for anyone!
I love this phone, the internet speed is fast,it comes with great apps, and the screen is big n shows up very clearly. I would recommend this phone to my friends an family.i hope to have this phone for awhile. If u looking for a good phone with a big screen front camera, high speed internet, and look good, and a good price thisis the phone for you.
Upgraded from Samsung Galaxy Exhibit II which was 1 1/2 year old for the same price for this phone(that too from Walmart).I planned to buy Sony Xperia Z but settled for 1/3 price which also sports Jelly Bean and for the give price suffice to say I didn't have high expecations Pros: Slim & Light weight Big screen Affordable price for Jelly Bean phone Cons (Expected) * Camera is not great ... Auto focus lags and performs bad in poor light(My Samsung Exhibit II camera performs better than this phone) * App2Sd is not enabled what it means if you're run out of space you can't move apps to SD card.(right now I have 1.14 GB available) but you can save camera picture shots , cam corder/camera videos and voice recording onto SD card. p.s:-As other posters posted that you can move apps to SD card that's not true unless you root the phone there is no other way to move apps to SD card.
So I purchased this phone to avoid monthly payments and or contracts on my phone bill. For $178.99 on walmart.com I don't see how you could do any better. The phone works great. Doesn't seem to be prone to freezing with my apps installed like the G2X or the My Touch 4G Slide I had. I think that is mostly related to Ram. G2X had 500 mb Ram and the Slide had 756 mb Ram, this phone has a whole GB. Each one performed better than the one before it with this one doing the best. My wife has the GS4 which is noticeably faster than this one, but I really am not in such a hurry that a millisecond of added loading time for apps bothers me. The screen is great. Not as high res as the GS4, but sometimes at night when one of our phones receives a notification I can't tell if it is the GS4 or the L9 until I pick it up. Again for $178 that really impresses me. Only had it for about a month so if I notice any big changes in my view of the phone I will try to revisit this review.
the only downfall I have noticed on this phone is there is no indicator light to let you know you have missed a call or message. You have to turn your screen on and look. A little less convenience than my past phones that had the light. It's been stable, nice screen, pretty quick. It has all the goodies that my G1 had and more. By the way, the protection plan is a must! Walmart turned around and gave me a full refund when my phone got run over in my purse! It only took 3 days and I had a new phone. WOW
It does everything you want at the speed you should have. If you get a phone with lesser speed than this one and you want to do a lot with your android you are going to get frustrated Also it is the minimum quality microphone, speaker and camera/video I would recommend if you plan on using this as a camera/video recorder/voice recorder
