Great Product For The Price

I viewed this product at several other retailers for at least $20 more. After reading the reviews, I expected a decent product, but nothing exceptional for this price. I would have to say that for $190 for tax and everything this is an exceptional product. My sister-in-law has the $120 sleigh bed that you can buy in walmart stores, it is absolutely awful compared to this. I couldn't get the sides down on it and felt that it was going to collapse whenever I tried to put my nephew in. So when I looked for my daughter I wanted something different. I read one review that stated this was the best drop-side they tried and I have to agree. My daughter is a relatively light sleeper and I can get this side up after putting her in without waking her up. I just go slow and brace the sides with my hand and it locks in place very quietly. It's so sturdy. Just a bit of advice - Read the instructions before starting. The two ends get put together before the rest. There are extra parts for when it goes to a daybed and full size head board and foot board (these by the way fit nicely under the drawer). The screw set up is a bit frustrating, i will actually at somepoint probably glue the screw parts together because they feel loose, but it's been together for over a month with no problems. Also, it was so easy to put together. My mom and I had the crib itself together in less than a half an hour one night and the drawer together in another half an hour the next. The only thing I would advise - bumpers are a little hard to get on, you may need to put longer strings to tie or find a different way to attach them. Mobiles are a little difficult to find a spot to attach to, but we figured it out. If your looking for a great crib at an unbelievable price, I would suggest this one. It looks great in the room and works wonderfully for us.

Stunning Crib!! (we just need 2 more!)

We have done a LOT of research on cribs and have experienced two cribs with our other children that we would not recommend. This one is WONDERFUL though! Very beautiful and we had no issues with it's condition when it arrived and it sets up very easy...our 3 year old helped daddy and it went so quick he never got bored! =) Our issue is that was need to order 2 more of these cribs because we are having triplets and they have been "not available" for a good 3 weeks now. These seem to be a hot item so if you see it available, jump on it....just leave 2 for us! Definitely the BEST product you will get for a third of the price in other stores! Truly a product that is worth more than what you pay for!

Surprising Quality!

We really did a lot of research before choosing a crib for baby #2, and chose the Rochester because of the overall look, drop down side, great reviews, and the great price. We bought it on rollback, and had it shipped free site-to-store. The pieces had no damage whatsoever, and we were very impressed by how well it was packaged. My husband put it together, with very little help from me, in less than an hour without any problems, and he was very impressed by the quality of this crib! Our first child's crib cost well over $100 more, (DaVinci) but we actually prefer this one. It is very sturdy, and very well made. We couldn't be happier that we chose this crib, and would most definitely recommend it!

pure white like anticipated, real easy to assemble - took me about one hour max. teething rail was broken, but it is a little piece of plastic that they will have to replace, but real nice construction and it looks great. sturdy and seems to be easy to convert. i like that it weighs 84 pounds, real stable and solid. not baby tested yet.

Great Crib

I recieved the crib and my mother in-law and I (seven months pregnant @ the time) were able to put it together. It is painted very nice. I was skeptical at first since its not made of real heavy wood, but after we put it together it was real sturdy. I got it in March and it was cold, so the teething rail was broke, but I called the parts dept and they were excellent! I had the part the next week. I didn't use the coasters since the black wheels are so bold in her cute pink nursery. It looks so much better without them and it's movable without the wheels. The drawer part...not real happy with it.....didn't put it in...(I will be using the wood for our next campfire). OVERALL I would recommend this crib! It is alot cheaper then what Target and Babies R us wants for it.

This product is definitely worth the money. Be careful when reading the instructions or lack there of! As most said, the drawer does not hold much so light storage is perfect!

Second Purchase...

I bought this crib in birch for my first child, and it is standing the test of time well. We used it as a day bed, and then bought the mattress frame to convert it to a full size bed. As with anything painted, little bumps and scratches show up more, but we were lucky with this one, and got away with anything that would be seen. It is the same sturdy crib we purchased 4 years ago, and it looks beautiful in the nursery. Very happy again for the money, I don't think you can beat this for design and quality under $200, and love the teething rail!!!!! Not many cribs offer this!

Reading other reviews, I understand what everyone is saying, but you do get what you pay for. I am not expecting perfection for a little over $200. There were some paint touch-ups on our crib also. The directions were not difficult to follow.. but there is one separate step that you are to do before you start on the big set of directions.. that's where it is confusing. If you do the little one that comes separate in a package with some bolts, there is no problem. We didn't have any issue putting together.. the drawer is fine. Looks pretty-- haven't used it yet, so can't say if it'll last a long time .. but we're happy with what we got for the money.

Good value, bad instructions

The crib is priced very well and once it is put together it is a nice crib. The instructions to put the crib together are terrible. The main instructions are on a piece of the crib, making it difficult to read inbetween steps. There is a second of instruction hidden somewhere in the box. The size of the bolts doesn't match the pictures on the instructions. Once together the crib is great, but it felt like you needed an engineering degree to put it together.

Overall, I do love the look of this crib. However, the drop siderail is very difficult especially with a sleeping baby in your arms. We rarely ended up using that feature. The drawer has also been a problem. Everytime you open the drawer it falls off the track. The "safety rail" to convert the crib to a toddler bed is not effective either.
