I bought this carry on because the size was just under the maximum size the airline and connecting airline allowed. I did not want to check my baggage nor did I want to take my nicer hard shell luggage on this business trip. I was able to pack a week's worth of clothing. The luggage easily fit in the upper bin of the plane and also into the overhead bin on the smaller plane. This wheels, handle, and balance of the luggage are what impressed me most. I ran from terminal B to terminal C in one airport with my laptop bag attached to the top of the Protege with no problems. I also pulled the luggage around the city in and out of commuter trains and water taxis with no trouble. On one of the connecting flights, my luggage was checked at the gate because the plane was full. When I got the luggage from the baggage terminal, there was a nice white paint mark on the corner. Really glad this was not my good luggage. The luggage is not well made as my more expensive hard shell luggage that we take on family road trips but I did not want to take my nice luggage on a plane. I really don't expect all of the zippers to last for more than four or five trips but since I paid just under $35 for this item, it has more than paid for itself in just one airline trip.
