The American Tourister Travel luggage scale is easy to use. The scale weighs up to 80 lbs and the handle is sturdy. The unit has a lock in place black needle for easy reading of the weight. There is a pull out measuring tape that extends to 39 inches.
At first I was a little Sceptical because of the size and I thought that it would not be able to hold weight appropriately but you will be surprised. It is small but strong. It really gives you an accurate weight. You can store it anywhere. I used it before my trip and after. On my return trip I weighed my luggage and was five pounds over weight and before I got to the airport I was able to adjust the weight so I would have to pay extra. I would recommend this scale to those who travel a lot. It is a great item to have handy.
So I have traveled a lot and more so I worked for tsa for over half a decade... this little thing is one of the best purchases you could make for under twenty bucks. I have spent so much time trying to balance my luggage on. Scale so I don't get hit with overweight fees. This thing takes me two seconds. It's amazing. It also has a dial to let you set it to your max weight so you know if it goes past. Even cooler we were playing with this and found a tape measure in it!! So handy! Now any traveler knows why they need this thats easy. What makes this super cool is letting your kids play with it. I was able to teach my daughter about so much from using the scale on her toys. She is measuring, weighing, comparing and doing all sorts of experiments it's so amazing to watch. Pro travel tip … when you know you are going somewhere you want to shop. Put your carry on bag in your suitcase then pack your clothes and toiletries in the carry on bag. Once you get to your destination take out your carry bag and you now have a full empty suitcase to use for your shopping needs. This scale is also small enough and light enough to bring with you to ensure no overages are charged on your return trip.
The American Tourister Travel luggage scale is a useful tool to ensure your suitcase fits size and weight requirements before arriving at the airport. Never worry again if your suitcase has been over packed. No more concerns that your carry on does not meet your airlines requirements. I find this little tool so useful. It is also handy to have a tape measure at the ready for a million household uses even when you aren't packing for a trip. The weight and tape measure are both in metric and standard measure systems.
My brother had one of these scales when he visited me and I was amazed at how much peace of mind it provides. You turn the black knob in the center of the dial to the maximum weight you're allowed and the black hand moves to indicate the weight. Then you hook your luggage handle through the sturdy hook and lift. You can easily see where the red hand points to make sure your luggage is within the allowed weight limits. In addition, it has a retracting measuring tape tucked into the base of the scale which goes up to 36". Love being able to travel with confidence!
I LOVE this item. I cannot tell you how awful it was the last time I flew and had to throw away 3 lbs of my things or pay $100 EXTRA for overweight baggage. This scale has been a life saver. Small enough to pack inside your bags so there are no surprises on your return trip either! Very sturdy, well made, accurate. It folds up to take up even less space when airing or taking with you. You should have one of these whether you fly often or not. It can be used to weigh other things as well.
For years I've been using my weight scale where I would have to weigh myself first, then hold my luggage, and then do some math. When my luggage is almost 50 lbs, it's not as easy as it sounds. Having this travel luggage scale is awesome. It's quick and easy to use. I like that there's an indicator where you adjust to zero and when you weigh your luggage it stops at the weight so you don't have to keep holding the luggage up and figure out what the weight is. There's also a measuring tape that's embedded in the scale's frame which is nice if you need to measure your luggage or anything else.
American Tourister has been a trusted brand ever since I can remember. Growing up in the 60s, l remember frequent trips to the airport as my family lived all over. American Tourister luggage was a part of our family. This luggage scale is so handy, and with the American Tourister name, reliable. I've gotten to the airport after weighing my bag in my arms on our house scale, only to find out how off l was on the weight. Never again with this scale! It certainly saves trying to peer over the heavy, bulky suitcase you're holding to see the weight...while also trying not to move and jiggle the dial..lol. The measuring tape is a plus as well. It's small enough to pack so you have it on the return trip, just in case you've gone a little nuts with souvenir buying. Although I received this as part of a promotion, l will not sing the praises of an item if it doesn't deserve it. Rest assured, this scale will solve the issue of wondering whether you'll be paying extra for luggage you weighed wrong by doing it the "stand on the house scale holding the bag" routine.
I like this luggage scale. I don't travel much lately, but this luggage scale can be used to check the weight of back packs, brief cases and anything else that you might carry, especially if you have back or shoulder problems. I just found out that my work carry all weighs almost 10 lbs., time to lighten the load. I used another method to check for accuracy, it is accurate. A good item to have. It's a buy!
The American Tourister luggage scale came in a vacuum sealed plastic covered package that had a hard paper backing. It was somewhat difficult to open as most of those type of packages are. I cut around the edges twice before I could break open the paper backing. Once opened I was pleasantly surprised. the scale is very light weight and has a plastic housing. The handle is very sturdy and fits comfortably in my hand. The handle folds down behind the scale for storage. The scale hook on the opposite end of the scale is also very sturdy and swivels and also can be folded behind the scale for storage. I would store it in a cloth bag with a pull string or a ziplock bag. The scale dial is approximately 2.5 inches in diameter and the scale is in pounds and kilograms. Maximum capacity is 80 pounds/36 kilograms. The scale has two needles, a red and a black. The red needle is the actual weight and retracts upon relieving the load. The black needle follows the red needle as you weight you luggage and will remain at the maximum measured weight upon relieving the load. Very nice features! You weigh your luggage and then place it back down, unhook the scale from the luggage and then you can hold up the scale up and read the weight via the black needle. The black needle has a black knob in the middle of the dial so it can be reset to zero after each use. At the bottom of the scale near the hook is a tape measure which extends to 39 inches/100 cm. This is very convenient for measured luggage size if needed as for carry on luggage. This is a great device for quickly weighing and measuring your luggage as you pack for a trip. And you can easily store it in your luggage. We had previously used our bathroom scale which was awkward and difficult to get an accurate reading. I would recommend this product.
