My husband and I purchased this keyboard for our home computer, which is a newer Dell that we got last year. The PC came with a keyboard we didn't like very well because several of the keys weren't in their usual place (odd), and we kept hitting the wrong keys (frustrating). This Logitech keyboard is true to form and has the keys in their regular places. We love the illumination feature, which is very helpful when typing. And there is no wire running from the keyboard across the desk to the back of the PC. We really like that. Wireless products are the way to go. This keyboard looks great with our black Dell PC, has a great touch, and is the perfect enhancement to our home computer. We are very happy with this keyboard.
I recently purchased a Logitech illuminated wireless keyboard K800. It is by far the best keyboard that I have ever owned.
It's only been about a week since I purchased this keyboard and set it up, but so far I'm really impressed with it. Logitech has always been my go to for products like this and I really like the fact that with any of the newer wireless products that they sell such as keyboards, mice, trackballs, etc. I can plug in one unified receiver, which comes included with any of the products that Logitech sells and connect any six of their products to only one unified receiver, which plugs into a USB port. The last keyboard that I had was also a good one except for the fact that sometimes the keys stuck, were inconsistent as to the pressure needed to get them to go down and usually needed a lot of pressure to get them to work. This keyboard is totally different than the last one. All of the keys are silky smooth, never stick in the down position, and require very little pressure to use. I'm impressed. The lighted keys are nice as well. To save battery power the keyboard has a sensor in it that turns the lighted keys on when my hand gets over the top of the keyboard and turns the lighted keys off within seconds after I finish typing and move my hands away from the keyboard. Besides being wireless and with lighted keys it is rechargeable and requires no batteries. I'm very happy with this keyboard.
I have used a Logitech lighted keyboard for several years and really like that it lights up in day time and at night. I had to reorder this keyboard because the power cord broke on my first one. I like the newer and more sturdy cord and that it plugs in to a computer USB port to be charged. When I see that the power is at the first bar I can plug the charging cord into the computer and it is very handy.
This is the third one I've bought, the first one I had for a couple years till the dog knocked a drink over on it, fried it. Bought another and it made it almost four years, still works just the battery needs recharging too often. I have my computer hooked up to my big screen tv and use this and a wireless mouse from my recliner( I cut out the shape of my mouse pad in wood, sanded it, attached a decorative bracket, painted it to match the recliner and mounted it off the end of the armrest, works great). Still keeping the old keyboard under the coffee table with another mouse on top for when I'm laying on the couch. All logitech using their unifying usb hub so I don't have to have a different usb plug in for each peripheral. I like the bright button lights that illuminates the characters on the buttons instead of just around the buttons. The first ones I bought were $80 got this one for $50, so price dropping and works great can't beat that.
Never expected using a lighted keyboard would be so nice to use. So easy to install too. Slim design with exceptionall sturdy rubber coated feet to raise the back of the keyboard and it stays in place. Wonderful product!
I bought this to replace a keyboard wherethe lewttering had worn off as it had on one before that. This illuminated one is hugely better and will hopefully always be readable. I'm a one finger typist and use the keyboard on a laptop used as my main computer. I downloade the free software for it too that allowed me to use the little USB transmitter thingy alrady in use with my wireless mouse as well so had no need to have two thingies plugged in, one for new keyboard, one for mouse. The keyboard has a rechargeable battery which with lighting set at maximum brightness lasted 4 days before needing recharging, simply by plugging it into a USB port where it is still useable whildst charging. In fact i used it plugged in for several days like that because I forgot to unplug it. The caps lock warning shows on the computer screen and a little green key light too which helps as I sometimes accidentally hit it instead of 'shift'. as long as it doesn't break down over time this is one of the best purchases I have made of computer accessories ever
I got this product two weeks ago. It is really fantastic. Illuminated key boards are going to be a standard in the very near future because it so convenient. This one is great but has one faulty design problem for people who are fast typers and use all their fingers. The bottom keys, CRTL and Alt, are raised higher than the other keys, creating an obstruction for fast typing. These keys, which are seldom used should never have been raised and creating an obstruction when typing fast.
This is the 3rd one I've had over the years. They last about two years for me, but I'm a heavy user. But because of the feel of the keys and the fact they are back-lit I will continue to buy them.
I tried every configuration imaginable to make the Logitech "Illuminated" Keyboard K800 to work by plugging the boards USB drive directly into the desktop PC slots; using the two hardware cables; and plugging the USB drive into another USB strip cable. All without success. The keyboard would light for about one-two minutes and then disappear. I found that I could cycle the keyboards ON/OFF switch to make it work. But this would only last for one minute or less. The battery light kept appearing indicating low power. I then tried technical support but never could log-in as a newcomer to generate a ticket. As an aside, this keyboard replaced a previous Logitech that was notorious for not responding to my keyboard strokes and seven embossed keyboard letters disappeared within six months of use. I will not buy another Logitech product.
