I use this with matte tan bronzing powder to contour my cheekbones and it does the job perfect. It's the perfect angle to get in and really define the cheekbone. I haven't used it for any other task, as I have brushes for blush and foundation. The This brush is nice and lightweight thanks to the plastic handle and nicely constructed. No problems with shedding.
I like this brush a lot. The first time I got it, I was surprised by how soft the bristles were. Picks up the perfect amount of product and applies evenly. I use it to contour and occasionally for blush. The only con is that it does tend to shed a bit, but this doesn't bother me too much. In my opinion, this brush is unbelievably great for its price. Extra info to help you: I'm 17 years old, medium/ tanned skin.
The hairs are a LITTLE rough when at first but if you wash them properly (michelle phan on youtube has a great technique) the hairs should soften up. Great for a natural look. I'm thinking of trying the studio line because I love the powder brush from that line.
This brush does what I need it to do better than my other brushes (I use it mainly to contour my cheek bones w/ my bronzer). However, the brush is REALLY rough and scratchy and is just overall really poor quality. It will work for now but I'll be looking for something to replace it with in the near future. My advice is to spend the extra 2 dollars and get the angled blush brush from the studio line.
I had pretty high expectations when I got this brush, as I opened it after their eyeshadow brush. I was very disapointed after trying this brush. First, its very floppy/flimsy. It's not very dense at all. I found that when I put color on, it was very streaky. Where I first put the brush, even with an extreemly light hand, is where most of the color went. It doesn't blend very well at all, so it's not good for a natural look. The bristles are kinda soft, i guess. Well, you get what you pay for. At this price, you really can't complain... =|
This brush isn't what I was looking for. You definitely get what you pay for. I was looking for something a little more full and firm. It's very soft to the touch, though! It doesn't pick up product well, and does a poor job placing it where I want it to be. The color (bristles and handle) and craftsmanship are excellent, though. It also came with a little slip cover that I keep on the brush when it's in my bag. It doesn't get much use from me, though.
I thought they had delivered the wrong brush that's how misleading the picture is. The bristles are not brown like the picture; the bristles are a mix of red. It does have an angle, which I like. However it is coarse and scratches my face. It's good for the price and does its job so overall this brush is okay. But definitely spend a couple dollars more and get the STUDIO brushes! Now those are super soft!
I wouldn't buy this at a normal retail price but hey it was cheap right? The brush is not as good quality as it could be, the bristles are not soft, there are too few hairs, the cut is uneven and ALOT of fall out. Also when you initially wash it, theres a lot of redish brown dye that comes out. But it works, worth trying [$]
I don't find myself reaching for this brush much, as it doesn't deliver near as well as any of the studio brushes. The hair is just a bit prickly and there's not a whole lot of control - it's truthfully not so great at blending. I prefer the complextion brush from the studio line instead. BUT! This is [$] and I have to admit, it's great for that! It's built very nicely and sheds very little. I see nothing wrong with this brush if you're shopping on a budget! Pretty decent!
I bought this brush because I wanted to start doing my makeup a little more. It's a basic blending brush. I feel like it blended the powder on my face without too much effort. The brush shed a tiny bit with the first wash and dried up all crazy. The brush will need to be replaced. Obviously not with the same one though.
