I buy this product for grilling, it always comes out, tender and incredibly delicious!
Heat up the oven, pop it in a baking dish- 2 hours later, it's done!!! So yummy and because the oven bag is already on, the chicken is already cleaned- it's SOOOO EASY. I do this right after school, and it's ready by dinner time.
This is perfectly seasoned and the easiest meal ever. Couple it with a veggie and mashed potatoes, even the refrigerated kind, for a semi homemade meal. The best part about this roaster is the amazing broth you can make with the carcass. After picking the meat, steam or boil the remains, including skin, for the best broth ever. I freeze the broth and remaining gravy for delicious chicken and dumplings, or a tasty soup. We got 2 meals for a family of 5 adults with this roaster.
Awesome price with Perdue coupons on line. Always fresh and moist.
Made this for Easter today. So pleased. Easy directions & it cooked itself. NO mess. It was Delicious! And the chicken was so big - there is enough for another whole meal. I am very pleased & will definitely buy it again. I let the whole thing rest over 1/2 hour since I was busy. The gravy was easy to make & fantastic ! Before I unbagged the chicken into the baking dish, I cut the tip off the corner of the bag & tilt-poured all the drippings into a large measuring cup in the sink. That made it easy to make the gravy in a sauce pan. A very good value. A Lot of good tasting food.
We got a coupon from BzzAgent to try the Perdue Oven Ready chicken. It was actually better than I expected because I thought it would be really salty like most packaged food is. It was good, really juicy, and I was glad that it didn't have a lot of bad stuff on the ingredients list but, honestly, it wasn't really that much easier than roasting a normal chicken. I mean, it just isn't that hard to rub some seasoning on a chicken and stick it in the oven... That's something even I can do. I actually removed the cook-in bag because I'm concerned about toxic chemicals leaching out of the plastic into the food, especially when it's cooked at high heat. I thought it might dry out the chicken but it didn't. I suppose that kinda defeats the purpose of the bag... the easy clean-up, but I'd rather wash a pan than feed my family toxic chicken. So, it was good, but I probably won't buy it again. It was also an enormous chicken, and way too much food for our little family. We gave a bunch of it away, but I think it would have been really good for making chicken salad with the leftovers.
