No issues with this flour, works good for baking. It was the best price I could find for this size.
I have the option of adding my on amount of baking powder, soda or yeast. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bake everyday, anything from artisanal style breads to cakes and cookies. I bake all our family's bread too. I insist on unbleached flour which once meant using King Arthur products, but now there are other options from companies like Pillsbury and Gold Metal. I love King Arthur Flour but when I have used Pillsbury Unbleached or Gold Metal unbleached, and I cannot detect any discernible difference in my baked goods. I usually buy King Arthur in bulk but they quit selling it because too many customers complained that the bags would break. For now I am switching to Pillsbury Unbleached APF. I honestly can't tell the difference. I get beautiful results with Pillsbury Unbleached APF. I am going to use Gold Metal Better for Bread as my bread flour and Pillsbury Unbleached APF. I go through more APF than bread flour because our everyday bread is a very soft wonder bread like loaf made with APF. I don't mind spending more but I don't want to be foolish with my money either. ****As for the reviewer who said this flour has a bad smell- his bag of flour was rancid which will happen to any flour stored improperly or for too long. Flour gets a distinctive "soapy" or paint like smell when it is bad. I can't imagine continuing to bake with a bag of rancid flour and attempting to cover the smell with vanilla. I buy flour in bulk because I hate running out and even though I go through it rather quickly I still store flour in the freezer to keep it fresh. ***** I highly recommend this product to anyone who is on a budget but wants the very best for their family and baked goods.
We've used the unbleached Pillsbury AP flour for years and never had any problems with the quality. I always have several bags in my freezer and we use it for everything from cookies and cakes to pizza dough and breads that don't require bread flour. I think it's composition seems to make it suitable for a wide range of baked goods and it's a nicely affordable flour. I also like the fact that the bag is sealed in such a way that when the bag is opened I don't get bits of dried, crackly glue from the seal in my flour as I have with some other brands I've tried. :)
Great product- love the unbleached all purpose flower.
One of my best choices for all purpose baking needs. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Wasn't what I was looking for. GV 25# out of stock.
This flour gives soapy unpleasant smell/taste to whatever you bake. I always bake my own bread and suddenly I noticed that horrible taste/smell. After baking bread few more times different ways I figure out that this smell was coming from Pillsbury Flour! Then to double check I did a very simple experiment, I opened two new packages of flour, one was Pillsbury Flour and another Flour - the flour of the same kind (and price) but by a different brand. I stuck my hands into those packs and grabbed a handful of different flour into each hand, rubbed the flour for a while and then smelled my hands. The smell clearly came from Pillsbury Flour! I learned this smell so well that I recognized it even in cookies, despite the amount of vanilla I used. Unfortunately, I bought a few packs of this flour but I don't think I can stand this any more, I will not use it for sure.
