I've been looking for a milk substitute for most of my life and being lactose intolerant just sucks, I'm not getting my daily nutrients. And when I discovered Cashew milk I though I'll give it a shot. And I am very glad that I did!!
I cannot say enough good things about this milk. It tastes great - like liquid cashews, and it works as a direct replacement for all things dairy milk in cooking. We use it in baking, sauces, french toast - you name it! Anything you use dairy milk in, you can completely replace it with Silk Cashew cashewmilk. Thank you Silk for making me a (cashew) milk drinker again!
I love the silk cashew milk however I don't need a half gallon.i would prefer buying a Quart size so the product stays fresh. While I love your product I don't drink enough to buy a half gallon each trip to the grocery store.
So I bought this as an alternative for milk obviously. I am not a fan of soy milk, and almond milk like someone said lacks creamyness and god knows how much water it takes to priduce that much almond milk. Now I got a carton yesterday, upon drinking I found it almost less tasty and not as thick. Also I noticed when I got home the added "with a touch of almond". Almost Defeating the entire idea of buying it in the first place. Ill take my $3.99 back.
It may be tasty. It may be free of soy, free of gluten but unfortunately for consumers, it is also virtually free of cashews. Cashews are nuts and nuts are high if fat (mainly the healthy kind). This means they are rich in calories. This product contains 60 kcal per cup. In comparison, a cup of cashews contains about 1,200 kcal. How can it be possible if it contains any cashews, at all? The producer got away with it by listing the first ingredient as a cashewmilk. If it listed water and cashews separately, cashews would likely be listed last (ingredients are to be listed from the most to the least predominant by weight). Don't waste your money on this bogus product.
I am allergic to dairy, soy & almonds (among other things, but this is just about milk). I'm not a huge fan of how strong the coconut flavor in coconut milk is as well as the thin consistency. So I was very excited to see and try this new cashew milk - the consistency is the closest I've found to regular milk - and the flavor is great as well. BUT!!! I cannot have almonds... I just don't understand why there would be almonds in this alternative milk. Isn't the whole point in these alternative milks to be available for people with allergies? If I could have almonds I would just buy almond milk. I love your products but am VERY frustrated with this. Please make it without almonds for people like me who are looking for alternatives for our allergies!
Yuk. Why mess with a good thing? Now that this "cashew milk" has been reformulated with almonds in it, it tastes horrible, separates in my hot beverages and is just revolting. I'll find another non-Silk cashew, thanks...
Dont understand why people always have to mess up a good thing. I loved cashewmilk because it was super thick and had a nice nutty flavor that almond milk lacked. The last few cartons ive purchased ive felt like my taste buds were playing tricks on me. The nutty flavor was gone and it was surprisingly similar to almond milk in taste. The thickness had gotten thinner for lack of a better description. Then i see on the carton that this is "cashew milk" and in small letters below it, never before printed on the cartons ive purchased were the words, "with a touch of almond" Thanks for ruining this product.
I am devastated that the recipe has changed. This milk with added almond milk is awful. My kids won't drink it (ages 5 and 6) nor will my husband. I would buy two cartons of the regular cashew milk and two cartons of the chocolate cashew milk every two weeks for cereal, homemade ice cream, smoothies, mac and cheese, oatmeal, baking, etc; however, I will not be purchasing any more cashew milk from Silk, unless they go back to the original recipe. I have returned three unopened cartons and will be tossing out the one I have opened. I am highly disappointed about this change. Key Note: There is no need to fix something that is perfect the way it is.
I used to love the cashew milk, but lately the milk gets thick and slimy just a few days after opening. 3 times in a row. Can't keep wasting my money. Too bad. Excellent product when fresh.
