Mixed it with almond milk and cooked per package directions. Didn't anticipate that it would taste sooo good being low calorie and sugar free. Will definitely try the other sugar free Jello options now.
I make homemade chocolate pudding and the taste of Jell-o cook & serve is almost identical. I make it in the microwave which is super simple and thickens just like stovetop.
I made chocolate mini pies topped with slithered almonds. I couldn't stop eating pie after pie.
So disappointed with jello pudding. The wonderful flavor of the cook and serve chocolate is now lousy. I actually thought the whipped cream had gone bad. Nope it's the flavor. I have eaten it all my life but I will not buy it again
Made exactly as per instructions (3 c whole milk, brought to boil, removed from heat, stirred after 5 min.) Had no problem with it setting up. Looked great! Taste - not so much. Not chocolately enough - Can hardly taste the chocolate! Taste needs improving. The Instant Chocolate Fudge pudding taste is way better. Let me know when you improve the cook and serve, as I like a cooked pudding for pies (smoother texture).
Something has been changed and it certainly is not for the better! The texture is DISGUSTING! I thought I ruined the first box because there are NO directions on the box for cooking it, only for the cold prep version. How dumb is that! So I guessed at the amount of milk to add and ended up with a thick clumpy "glop". Inedible. Sooooo I tried a second box after researching how much milk to add (it seems it is 3 cups) and guess what? SAME disgusting goo with clumps and black chocolate specks throughout. Excuse the analogy but it reminded me too much of "snot" for me to find it remotely enjoyable. Another wasted mix plus another 3 cups of milk. DON'T buy it - I'll try making my own from scratch but such a pity. I always loved Jello chocolate pudding!!
Does not harden. left in fridge for 24 hours and it looks like I just made it and put in fridge.
Who in the world does the taste testing at this company? These folks changed their old winning recipe and with it the taste went out the door. What used to be a classic, is now trash. Not the same taste in the least. And rather than give their consumers the choice to select the old product from the new, they dumped the old formula, for this paste! Unforgiveable. I'll never buy Jello again. Sorry.
This is not the same product I've used for 40 years. It is very gelatin-ey and lacks flavor. This is NOT the same formula; something has changed. The pie I made recently was the only bad pie I've kicked out in decades. My sister and mother have had the same problems with Cook 'n Serve recently. I won't repurchase unless the product is returned to its former quality.
Chocolate cook and serve pudding has changed. Bought whole fresh milk each time to make it. Three different times from two different markets. Will not be buying it again. Does not set, consistency of glue, unpleasant after taste ( no it's not instant ) I've been making it for many years. Chocolate pudding is easy to make from scratch but boxed pudding mix was sometimes more convenient-----but not convenient if you have to throw it out.
