These pans are awesome! I am by no means a chef but just for your everyday cooking as a mom and wife, this is the best set of pans I have ever had!!
Ok it's really simple to clean the inside of your pans. When you get finished cooking your meal. While the pan is still hot, add some water. (let the burst of steam clear) and quickly stir all the cooked on mess out of the bottom. It comes off like its a non stick coated pan. The pan has to be hot or your wasting your time. If your discoloring the copper turn down your heat a touch and use Bartenders Magic on the bottom it's non abrasive but cleans up great!!! Just don't let the discoloration get so bad it takes you hours of scrubbing. It's nothing to keep your equipment clean and looking new for years. I am 56 yrs old and we are still using my moms pots and pans with copper bottoms to this day and she is 81!! It's not a chore to clean if you do it right and don't get lazy thinking I can go one more meal before scrubbing.
My mother surprised me with this set before my wedding. I use them at least once a day, and they are fabulous. I've received many compliments on them, food comes off them with ease, and they heat up evenly. While they are beautiful, these pieces require a little extra love and care now and then. I only use wooden cooking utensils to prevent scratching. If the heat is turned up too high on our electric stove, the bottoms of these pans will begin to turn blue, which is a natural occurrence with any copper cookware. I use ketchup to restore the copper color when this happens. If there are any black marks on the copper itself, I use salt and lemon juice to scrub it off. If black marks wind up on the stainless portion of a piece, Mr. Clean Magic Erasers can get those marks right off. Hope these tips help!
Very happy with this cookware, very pretty and is wonderful to cook food in. Wish there was more cookware in the set
I, too, followed the instructions for the cookware, but on the third wash (by hand--I didn't even put them in the dishwasher) I saw the copper wash off of one of the pans! Then I noticed the copper mostly gone off the bottom of another. I took those two pieces back to the store and exchanged them, thinking it was a flaw. Now the copper is disappearing off the other pieces. The inside of the cookware also became spotted after a few uses. If your wanting copper-bottomed cookware, you'll not have it for long with this set.
i got this set as an early christmas gift from my family. the set is so pretty! the only hassel is that you have to let them soak in hot baking soda water to remove the clear coating. when that comes off, so does the lust. after usuing this product for a cupple weeks the bottom of the copper turns a differnt color and the steel on the bottom of the pan turns black. also the inside of the pan turns a cloudy white color. i have followed all the instructions and still... nothing. im very very disappointed.
what a joke! My fiance bought these for me 3 days ago for my birthday. I was ok with having to soak each pan, Thats not the High matiance part Im complaing about. After using them ONE TIME the beautiful copper shine turned yellow on the bottom of the skillet using MEDIUM heat. The two saucepans after washing them turned cloudy and dingy once again after ONE USE. Insane!! I was so mad I called the 1800 number and voiced my complaint. She told me that the cloudy I was seeing is a result of minerals in my water and that lemon juice will take care of that. Ok who in their right mind wants to reapeat this process everytime I use them? Seems like they would make a universal product that can handle different types of water. As for the Copper changing color? She told me to get some copper cleaner. Ok once again.. who wants to do that after every use? Sorry not me. She said maybe you didnt soak them in hot enough water. Well the little sticker doesnt say how hot the water has to be. It just says soak them. The woman told me to stick it out for a while that its a good product. Well I just dont have the extra time to spend babying my new pots and pans. After all this was the FIRST time I used them. I think people buy this product for the way it looks. So if thats the case dont use them because after one use they dont look the same and unless you have an extra hour to hand wash and apply lemon juice and copper cleaner after every use, I dont advise buying this product. Im taking them back. What a joke, too bad Im not laughing.
After months of trying to make this product work for me, it was just not worth all the frustration and my left tennis elbow from scrubbing them. I purchased this product about six months ago and followed the instructions to the "T". The first use was miserable the sauce I made burnt all around the side of the Teflon pan, excuse me Teflon should not stick or burn even when constantly stirring (this was on the lowest setting of my gas stove). I had to break out my very old hand me downs that my sister gave me when I got married 15 years ago get the picture theses very old pans are better than these new ones. I am very disappointed with this purchase I have used stainless steel copper bottom pans and I had never had to scrub longer than it takes me to cook. I cook a lot and this is the reason why I bought these pans. I wonder if the queen of the kitchen Paula Deen knows the product that they a stamping here name on is not worth the money or the time it takes one to clean them. I truly believe that this product should be redesigned. This product looks gorgeous in the store but horrible once you start using them.
We have had these for a little over year and a half, never been in dishwasher. From the start had problems with things sticking. Most of the pans are warped and lids don't fit correctly. Now the bottom has melted on one of the pots and after researching it found out apparently that is a common problem. So we're not only out a new set of pans but have to buy a 250.00 cooktop where we had molten metal on it. Would not recommend this product, research and decide for yourself. They have limited lifetime warranty but after reading what is not covered, I would say it is a VERY limited lifetime warranty.
First of all know you have to soak the pots in baking soda to remove a "protective layer applied to the copper base to protect the copper bottom from tarnishing". This is inconvenient when getting a new product. The gooey layer was on the side of two of the pots which took additional scrubbing. After the first use, the bottoms inside look pitted and yucky. I cooked spaghetti in the large pot and can see a line that looks like a noodle etched in the bottom. Too much work cleaning. I need pots that get me out of the kitchen fast, not ones I have to baby.
