I bought this for my daughter to take to the dorm. The features were good and the price was better. It works with her phone and her tablet. I have had several Canon printers and never have managed to wear one out, not even the one that wound up in my classroom. I retired before it did, and it cost $29.
I was given this printer by friends who were fed up with my request they print stuff for me. (they are kind friends and would have continued helping) Now I have my own! Have printed out very little so far and over 3 months am impressed by the nice dark print. I purchased another from Walmart and sent it to my family in Portland OR. My son is finishing a degree course and has printed out all kinds of material with great success. I have no idea how to put a picture in the box below
I purchased a $250 printer a year ago - it gave me more problems - from jams, to ink cart. lifetime, to user unfriendly. Their cartridges were hard to find. It had many features I didn't use. After buying printers for 25 yrs. it by far gave me the most headaches. The last cartridge I bought for it was $10 under what my Canon Printer cost. Economically, the Canon is a bargain! It is simple to use, no jam yet, it prints easily and quickly, the cartridge that came with it is still working, it is smaller in case I have to move it around, and if need be customer service will be just that - customer service. It has wonderful photo options! I absolutely love it!

Generally straightforward and good quality. But the setup of wireless connectivity is ridiculously complicated - must be an easier way. And this one replaced an old one that lasted less than two years - fell victim to a fatal paper jam and never worked after that.
This is the second printer of this model that I have bought. I purchased it only because the previous printer used cartridge canon 240 and 241, which I had a surplus stock on hand and few other Canon printers used these cartridges. Otherwise I would have bought a different printer.
It was an excellent printer when I first brought 7/22/2017. This month 10/2020 changed the cartilage, the printer no longer prints clear. When I print all images are ghostly and smudged. I deep clean, performed alignment with poor results. I even replaced the new ink tank and installed a new black ink tank, did the maintenance procedures and same results (ghostly images and smudges. This is my third canon printer. I am done buying Canons printer. All three printers I owned stop functioning properly going on three years. It's as if Canon makes and design their printers to last three years in hopes you buy a newer model
I needed a printer for working from home because I had an HP printer that died. I got the Cannon and was able to pair it with my phone. After printing about 10 pages of labels it stopped printing the whole page and the colors were not printing properly. Yes, I changed the ink. I then needed to print some paperwork off for my work and could not connect with my computer. It asks for a code, which is not located on the printer and the crappy display doesn't show any code. So it looks like I will be going back to Hp since I never had any connection issues. Now I just have a cheap paperweight.
