Just like the original Atari from the 80's. Very easy installation and set-up. Games are exactly how I remember, wired controllers are much better than the wireless. Game console almost half the size as original from the 80's. Some of the games appear more pixelated due to the larger widescreen TV but not really an issue.
I bought 4 of these hoping everyone will enjoy there presents from Santa
Retro gamers rejoice! There's something for everyone in the Atari 2600 Flashback 8. The menu system needs improvement, but once you choose your game, it's all golden from there. The paddle controllers enhance the experience because some of the games were made for the paddle controllers. This is a great deal because at Sam's, this Atari 2600 Flashback 8 system is $10 cheaper than all the other retailers regular price, plus you get the exclusive paddle controllers that doesn't come with the other retailer's Atari 2600 Flashback 8 sets. The paddle controllers alone are at least $20+ elsewhere. This is a fun, quick, and easy setup retro console that everyone will enjoy!
Ordering the system was easy (the site is really user friendly) and it arrived the day it said it would so everything on Sam's Club's end was perfect. The game selection is a wonderful mix of classics and also a couple of unreleased games as well. The controller and paddles feel completely authentic. Literally the ONLY issue I have is that i got this specific version with the paddles included so I could play Breakout (one of my favorite games) with the paddles and it DOES work however the paddle doesn't go all the way left in the game for some reason. I found the sake issue playing Video Olympic or Pong. The paddle goes way up top but not all the way down however the regular controller doesn't have this issue. It's like the programming for the paddles is messed up somehow, however the paddles work perfectly fine on Warlord and Off the Wall. It's not a major issue, you can still play the games with the paddles but if the ball goes too far left on Breakout or too far down on Pong there's nothing you can do about it. That's an ATgames issue though, I don't think Sam's Club has anything to do with it, I still highly HIGHLY recommend this especially if you love Atari or if you've never played an Atari system and just want to see what the big deal was.
I bought this to play some of the old games I remembered playing as a kid. I gave my system and cartridges to a friend. I didn't want to, but he seemed to need it more than me at the time. This replicates the games I've tried so far. I only wish that it had a sdcard slot so I could add roms like the portable unit does.
Just like the old games. But later found out that out on the market there are wireless controllers. sure would be a lot better with wires across the floor
