So quiet that I had to ask if it was on. Love the LED lighting! And the door shelving is a very nice size...can hold a gallon pitcher in the door. Must have to appreciate. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Switched back to top freezer and glad I did. This fridge is sleek with a lot of space upper and lower and the wheels makes it easy to move for cleaning behind the unit. No handles for flush fit in a tight space [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
LG remembered a refrigerators main job is to maintain a cool temperature without burning though power to do it. It has plenty of room looks nice and of course it's true it shows finger prints. All stainless models do. I found it more practical to rearrange the shelving; the sock configuration did not work for me. The slide out crisper for lunch and cheese's works best for me on the top shelve. This top and bottom model is more efficient than the side by side's and for my taste I don't need to showoff see through windows / computer touch screen with water in the door. The built in Ice maker works fine for my needs. Practicality for me is not spending upwards of $3700. When under $1000. Buys you a fantastic LG refrigerator with fewer things to go wrong. . LED lighting digital touch controls; no problems with moisture build up. Very silent operation and convenient landless door pockets. . I was told don't use the braided stainless water lines they have rubber in the middle and make the water taste bad. When it was delivered they installed a new water line ‘not the braided type'. Good quality. However installation does not include a water filter. If you add one stay away from the braided water lines to connect it. . Do Not put refrigerator magnets on stainless scratching will occur. The sides are painted and more durable for your magnets to hold items or show off.
We had to replace our broken fridge and have a family of 10. We simply need a place to put a lot of food and want concerned with the bells and whistles. This model is outstanding! A gallon of milk, four additional half gallons and the fridge doors were only half full. It's great!
I bought this refrigerator to replace an aging Kenmore that we had for 10 years despite all the repairs been done to it over the years has decided to give up. This refrigerator gets cold right away when first plugged in. It takes a good 36 hours after plugging in before the ice maker would start making ice. But so far it makes ice faster than we could consume! And we have 8 family members living here! The freezer gets very cold, to about 12 degrees Fahrenheit. But the refrigerator was not very cold at all. Even though I cranked the refrigerator to its coldest setting. Many areas of the refrigerator was barley cold but good enough that I just dont want to go through the hassle of returning it. I love that the refrigerator has a thick plastic film covering the front and sides of it to prevent scratches. I just keep this on and never will remove it, to keep it protected. Also ice maker does not have a water filter. If you do want your ice to be odor free and clean you must buy a separate external water filtration system. The people who shipped this refrigerator to me was very rough with it. They litterally tossed it off the truck in front of my eyes and banged it around to get it to its final position. I would think they would be more gentle with something so expensive and large. But lucky for me it worked fine and was not damaged once I inspected it after delivery.
Top shelf plastic edging cracked open after less than a year. Quick response for warranty replacement but it arrived damaged worse than the original. Waiting on second replacement to arrive, fingers crossed.
Four shelves are not interchangeable. Very brittle plastic. Expensive parts. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this refrigerator about 2 years ago. Roughly 18 months into ownership and normal use the shelves all started cracking and breaking. The shelves have very poor durability and are in desperate need of a redesign. Do yourself a favor and read and believe the negative reviews regarding the shelves.
I was cleaning the glass shelf that is over the crisper and it exploded into a million pieces right in my hand. Shot glass splinters across the room. Lucky it did not get in my eyes. Did give me abrasions on my hands and legs. The fridge is just over a year old. I went by Bill Smith's Appliance in Fort Myers, where I bought the fridge as was told it is a cosmetic problem, too bad. I called LG and got nowhere. NOTHING will be done to replace the glass. I looked on line and this seems LG seems to have a problem with exploding tempered glass shelves. I consider this dangerous problem and someone one should address this issue before someone loses an eye. They say this is not a warnety issue. This is not a consumer or warrnety issue, this is a FAULTY GLASS issue. I cleaned the glass with cool wanter and a soft paper towel. How can it explode like that? Now I can't find the replacement for the glass on line. NOT HAPPY!
I can't believe people say the lighting is good. Maybe mine was missing some lights. It had two LED strips at the front side edges of the fridge compartment. Looked great in the store, but at home with food inside (not even very much food) the light was blocked and the shelves were dark. I even tried using battery-operated motion-sensor lights, but they didn't work in the cold. I also sometimes had a problem with the freezer door popping open when the fridge door was closed; one night I didn't notice it and the freezer door was ajar a half-inch in the morning with frost on the bottom edge. Despite that, I tried to get used to it because I like the sleek, easy-clean exterior, the quiet operation and the spacious layout. But the lighting was a deal-breaker for me. I returned it after 30 days to Lowe's. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
