IDK maybe I just got lucky seeing the awful reviews here. I've had 2 of these lights set up for about 2 months now and haven't had a single problem so far. Hoping they prove to be reliable as time goes on. I use them as grow lights and they are on for 12 hours daily on a timer. Maybe that has something to do with not blowing the ballast as they are not getting unplugged and plugged back in constantly. I do wish they would have had an on off switch but with them being on a timer it hasn't really mattered.
THESE COMPACT, USEFULL AND EASY TO HANDLE WERE PLANNED TO BE INSTALL IN MY GARAGE AREA WHICH IS CHANGE TO MY PERSONAL WATERCRAFT & SMALL BOATS REPAIR SHOP. THEY WERE CHANGE TO L.E.D. TUBES TO HAVE MORE DAY LIGHT APPERANCE AND MORE CLEAR LIGHT FOR THE DAILY WORK ON THIS AREA, TO SERVE MORE COMFORTABLE FOR ME AND MY CUSTOMERS. EVEN IN THE FIRST NIGHT HOUR TO WORK PROPERLY.
Bought 5 lights over 7 years ago. Changed tubes from cool white to warm 3 years ago and all are still working fine. Just bought 4 more for my new shop and all worked perfectly right out of the box. A 5' cord and chains & hooks included at the lowest price anywhere.
Purchased this light to replace failed magnetic ballast. This lifht will start in a cold enviroment without damage.
I ordered two of these for my workshop. The first one came two days later. I noticed the box was open in some places. When I took it out of the box, the power cord grommet had come out of the lamp housing, allowing the power cord to come loose from the unit. I was able to reinstall the grommet and secure the cord however. The second unit came several days later and the box was ripped open. The metal parts of the unit were crumpled and the unit was thus unusable. I returned it to the local store for a refund with no hassle. I think items should be more carefully packaged or a shipper engaged that will take better care of their charges.
I bought this light to use in gardening. Supposedly if you add one cool bulb and one warm bulb, it can be used effectively as a grow light. The light is light weight and attractive in appearance and works as advertised. The only negative thing I have seen is that the ends easily become unsnapped. They can be snapped back into place if this occurs. Overall, it is a good buy.
it takes a thinner bulb (T8) which is smaller around then the (T12) and more costly. I also needed t o go and get some more chain, to reach between the rafters all together it was less to do this way, then any other.
Exactly as described other than each was shipped seperately - and most came dented or damaged on the ends but since it was for a garage they worked out fine and the jet heads were awesome when I called to let them know [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bought three of these and tested two out of three and each one turn on for about 15 minutes and then shut off. Unplugged and tried again...same issue. I returned all three.
Did not last two weeks...
