Big sound for a small price! This is far better overall than any mid-level speaker in its size, but priced at an entry level speaker. A wide dispersion field with crisp high to mid-level frequencies with a nice roll off around 100hz. There aren't any dead spots in the response I've observed using a moderately powered amplifier. As an added bonus, it's elegant and well crafted - very aesthetically pleasing if you have your speakers exposed as I do. Overall, I'm incredibly happy with this purchase and will be purchasing another for the other 7.2 channel system in the home.
This center channel was the piece I needed to round out my home theater system. It replaced a smaller, less effective speaker. Dialogue is clear and bright and comes from the source. The Studio 520C did not disappoint!
Good deal on a speaker. Have the studio 570s wth this and they're great. Driven by a kenwood ka9100. Also shipped very fast, got here on the second day.
This center speaker is amazing, it is clear and layed back. paired with the Studio 530 bookshelf speakers and you have an open and powerful front stage.
Studio 520 center channel ,replaced image dynamics B1000 center speaker. The jbl is bigger and it sounds very clean . Paired with the studio tower speakers , the front sound stage sounds great.
I had been looking at this speaker for a long time, when they came to a price I could afford I jumped. I really like this speaker. Glad I took the jump.
Great center channel speaker for a large room setup. Center channel vocals and dialog stand right out regardless of the source (TV, music, etc.). I use the Studio L820's for my front left and right speaker. The fit great on standard 11" deep book shelves. Overall sound quality is outstanding. I do use a subwoofer for lowest frequencies.
Speakers woke up my 20 yr old system and my He-Man and Transformers DVDs sound good finally, highly recommend buying this series, two 5-Star reviews.
I was pleasantly surprised that this small center speaker can keep up with the studio 590 speakers. Not only does it keep up but it blends flawlessly. I own several large center speakers like SVS Ultra center and Klipsch rc-64 ii both great speakers and wasn't to worried about having a center that worked in my system. Decide to try the studio 520C, I like to have systems that match. Vocals are crisp and clear and music sounds great. Crossed it over at 80hz and surprisingly get decent base out of it for the size woofers it has. I think it would be nice if JBL made a larger center so you have the opportunity to chose something with larger woofers, but all in all this center works much better than I thought it would, and couldn't be happier with the combination. Great job JBL PS. Had the JBL LS center and wasn't nearly as happy with it vocals were sometimes hard to hear. The 520C is much more clear
I was going to replace my 235c with this one but it doesn't have the full sound that the 235c has. Need to use 5.25" or larger woofers/mids in the next model.
