I PURCHASED 8 OF THESE LAMPS AND INSTALLED THEM ON THE EDGE OF MY DOCK. THEY ARE GREAT ACCENT LITES AND ALL WORK PERFECTLY.
Replaced all batteries with better quality NiMH (all ready charged). Not able to give them full direct sunlight. Partial shade to all shade at times cutting down on run time. Biggest problem is guessing which ones are going to work which night. All 4 never light Sometimes two on two off and it's never the same ones. Really strange, but not uncommon for me. Love them when they work and they do look nice. No trouble positioning out of the way. Please try to give them full direct sun and I think they would work great for you.
I had 2 out of 8 that were dead, they give off very little lite, not that I wanted it to light up the entire deck but maybe greater than 6 inches would have been night. Walmart was the cheapest price but a total waste of money.
Some worked on occasion, ended up returning.
These are not black as stated clearly in the description. These are brown. That is a big deal when you NEED BLACK! These are not cheap for the size.
They look great and thought they would work well on my outdoor wooden steps. Only 1 works sporadically on different days. The other 3 don't come on at all during the night. They are all in direct sunlight during the day. Wish I never bought this item. Going to look for another brand.

These give off very little light and one stopped working the first week we put them up. I wouldn't buy again.
