For a boom box without and ipod it is an excellent product.
I bought this for use in my office. It runs pretty much all day long Monday through Friday. It has great sound at the lower volumes, which some similar products lack. I mainly use the CD feature, but have used the tape here and there. The radio does pick up more stations than my last one did, but it is still difficult to get good reception all the time in our building. It has a good amount of options/features - not too many, not too few. The only things I don't like are that you have to push the power button to change from radio to tape to Cd to off. So every morning, I have to hit the button 3 times to get to the CD function. Not a big deal, but could definitely be improved. The other issue being that you have to manually push the CD tray in after loading. It seems a little odd in this day and age. I would still definitely recommend this product for anyone looking for a good value on a portable CD player. I spent $30 and use it every day - not bad.
Everything about this product is excellent. However, I wish a pamphlet had come with it that describes how everything works. I had to sort of figure it out on my own; and am still learning the how-to's. Otherwise, it seems to meet my needs in all the ways I desired. I would recommend it to friends, etc.
Looks good. Does what i need but when i want loud bass thumping music i use a sony from 1999. you have to turn it up past 16 to get it loud.
I bought this radio last year (2006) for my girlfriend for xmas. She needed radio for her bathroom. It was so nice I bought one for myself for my bathroom. I really like the remote because I can skip songs on CD's without having to get out of the shower. I put the remote in a zip lock bag to keep it dry. I'd buy a third one for my garage but the display is on the top and I can't see it on the shelf I'd be putting it on. Normally I don't bother writing reviews, but the ones I read on this radio, I felt, didn't give it a fair shake. I think it's great.
This all in one boom box does all I need and has great sound.
I bought it about a year ago. And I thought that it sounded really good for what I bought it for. But since I bought it I have trouble turning the volume up & down. It's really annoying because when I want to turn the volume down the CD starts over, and when i try to turn the radio off the volume goes up! wierd huh! And also the cd player is starting to mess up! I always have to fast forward the begining of the first song! But other than that it's a good product.
I like the RCA boombox very much the speakers are sharp and it very easiy to use except for the tuner you have to punch the button over and over just to change stations. and all the preset stations are either hispanic or religious both of which I don't care for.
Don't like that you manually have to push the cd tray in. Don't like that you have to push the on/off button three or four times to turn the radio off. And don't like that when you want the radio on, you need to push the on/off button then the volumn button. But it is a good product. Use it everyday...
The truth is that I got what I deserve buy paying a cheap price for a product that lasted only 1 month and from day one showed problems with the on button. Now it won't even turn on, or do anything. It was a true dissapointment and to make things worse, I live in another country and can't return it!
