I had a much older Tom Tom that was stolen and I need one in my business of Transportation. This item was easy to use right out of the box. There were no problems with set-up and/or start-up.
For my line of work I need a GPS since I have to travel to different locations in the city. My older Tom Tom started to stutter and act up so a replacement was needed. This item was easy to use right out of the box and no problems with setting it up and getting started. Tom Tom is a very dependable device.
I had an older model TOMTOM that was also a lower priced version, and this new model is a definite step up. Gives much better directions and vocal instructions, with clear exit and lane choice. Very good for the price!! unless you expect one to serve you lunch while driving, it does the job plenty good.

I have used a TomTom for 4 years, and wouldn't buy another brand. It has been very dependable.
This is a no frills GPS which functions amazingly well. Used it for a trip from NC to GA - Jekyll Island -- a trip of over 400 miles (one way) without a problem. Instructions were clear and timely -- both visual and audio.
The big problem I had was getting help. Wound up talking to somebody in India for about s hours!
I just purchased this GPS to replace older version of the Tom Tom GPS. Only reason I replaced the old one is I couldn't update without paying for updates and this model's low price with lifetime updates was comparable to one year's updates. Updates are important as I was stranded in a strange area with my GPS telling me there were "no matches found" for the address of a birthday party I was trying to get to. I bought this one and, straight out of the box, it guided me to the address. Of course, it has some of the issues my old Tom Tom had which is not always taking the straightest or easiest route to a destination.
I use a GPS daily. Preparing for cross country drive, I needed to update maps on older TomTom which I've had for many years. Found it was better value to buy new one which includes lifetime map updates. Couldn't find one in store, but site to store shipping was quick. Set up of unit was easy. Update was easy. Now I have a new GPS with lifetime map updates for the same price to update maps for only a year on old unit. Unit has larger display which is very nice. For the price, I don't think you can beat TomTom. I could use my smart phone or tablet but that would use data time, this unit does not. It stays on for the entire trip. I'm very happy with the purchase and would recomend this to anyone wanting to buy a GPS. It's a very good basic unit. You want bells and whistles, buy a more expensive unit. You want turn by turn spoken directions to get from point A to B, points of interest, gas prices and more features (too many to list), this is the unit I would buy again.
This is my first Tom Tom Gps, and I also have a Garmin Gps. Like my Garmin, it's accuracy is disappointing. I was hoping for a more dependable Gps. I updated the maps and it still could not find the address I needed to drive to...but no problem with finding the address on Google Maps. On a previous trip with a simple point to point/straight shot route, the Tom Tom wanted me to take a turn off the main route and come back on it after a mile or two. I am having better accuracy printing out my trip with Google Maps, and just using the Tom Tom for points of interest at my destination.
