When I first heard about this set, I was quite excited to see the LEGO® Company releasing a mini train set that isn't a gift-with-purchase product! I bought a couple copies of this set in mid-June, and I'm very impressed with the results. The detailing is phenomenal for the simplicity of this HST, from the white ingot doors, to the smoothly-shaped nose of the locomotive! The pantographs add a lot of charm as well. I like that this set doesn't come as the complete train, so that way people on a budget can buy the two-car set alone. That said, the train with four units of consist looks fantastic! It's rather long, and displays well on my dresser. Though it would have been nice to have osculating trucks, the lack of this implementation makes the train easier to handle during play and display. However, if this set should retire and re-release, I would definitely like to see swiveling bogies! Overall, this set makes for an awesome collectable, and a great addition to the LEGO® Creator line, and I hope to see more train sets done to this scale in the near future! 🎩👌🏻 ~ Joseph cheeseinthepie
It was a very nice surprise for my boyfriend. He really enjoyed building it
1st; I would like to state that this is a “small” train like many you might buy with a Christmas theme. I loved the ease of assembly and the look of the train is very attractive. Very sturdy for kids or Grandkids to play with. If you buy more kits they can attach to each other. I wish that Lego would make “small” track for these “small” trains. I would recommend this kit to others. Very nice look! Great job Lego!!!
Cool set my son loves trains wish it came with maybe one piece of track or what track size it fits on!
I bought this train thinking I could use it around the small city by granddaughter built. Imagine my surprise that it did NOT come with tracks - and no other tracks I have found online fit this train.
Good detail. Disappointed that it's smaller than Lego city so doesn't work on Lego city tracks
The paired set was well thought out, as decals to create cars 3 & 4 (rather than duplicating 1 & 2) were included in each set. Fun little display piece for all you train lovers out there.
It's sort of pricey than Lego stores.
It is a Lego train for a decent price. I bought this set with the expectation of using it with my existing Lego train and tracks. It's deceptive in it's size and purpose. The train width is not wide enough to fit on the tracks. It would be helpful if the description stated that this train is not intended to be used with existing Lego train sets and tracks. Good set of parts that I will use to build on my existing sets.
It was smaller then I thought and didn't fit with the other trains we have so I returned it. Other then the I didn't see any problem with it. Still waiting for my refund.
