Really helps kids have fun while they are learning.
This toy really ROCKS!!!! My 5 years old got it and he loves it. Its ready to go everywhere. Perfect for travel. No batteries needed. With the Alpha Slide Writer your kids learn how to grasp the pencil and write new words. With the slide they can create words and play how to spell. It is perfect for their little hands. It promotes creativity and learning at the same time. It helps your kids get ready to school too. Try it your kids would love it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I love this thing! It's low tech but my 6yo really enjoys using it. She has started to have spelling words in school and with this pad we are learning every word! Also using the tiles to teach her 3yo sister letters.
My 3 year old son absolutely loves this writing board. I can put letters or words together for him to practice his writing, spelling and sounding out words together. It's easy to erase the writing and slide the letters to make new words. I love that it came with extra letter stickers to put in the two blank slides if your child has two of the same letters in their name. Awesome product, great for learning! I saw this and thought that it might provide some positive benefits for my grandson who is having trouble with writing so had it sent to him. His mom was excited to get it because she too sees some positive uses that can make practice he needs to do more fun. I especially liked the fact that it provides ways for him to trace correctly formed letters with his finger, which has been found to have big benefits with reading/writing. Since he has had it for only a few days it is too soon to say for sure how useful it will be.
I loved that I can pick whatever letters for the kids to copy(we started with my daughter's name), and the letters all stayed in the track! Having everything stay in all one piece is perfect - the last thing I want is little tiles everywhere! My only complaint was that the "eraser bar" needs some work - it doesn't completely clean the lines. Otherwise, both my kids (2 & 4) have had lots of fun playing with it! Great toy to keep my 3yr old interested in writing, comes with stickers so you can add a few letters since it is just the basic alphabet. I added an extra M and D so she can start with simple words like mom and dad and can work up from there, love it! Only downside is i wish it had more blank spaces to add more extra letters
My preschooler loves it however the downside is that it broke while my preschooler was trying to write the alphabet. Other than that, I like the tablet and it has made writing fun.
Both my 3 year old and 4.5 year old have used the Think & Learn Alpha. My 3 year old loves writing and practicing letters. My older daughter has less attention and likes to draw. The writing screen doesn't allow for much creativity other than writing letters. The letters are like a puzzle to maneuver them in the correct order to spell words. For young children who don't know how to spell, this is a challenge. It's time consuming to arrange them while they wait to write. While it has 2 extra tiles to put a letter sticker on, you are limited to what words you can write. My daughter has 2 E's in her name, so there went one. She wants to write Daddy and Mama but not enough multiple letters for that. In general, they enjoy writing with it and it provides another way for early writers to practice their letters and whole word practice. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
It is VERY hard to move the letters to make a word and there aren't duplicate letters for words that use the same letter more than once except for stickers to put on blanks. Also, I am a head start teacher and let my four year old niece practice on one and she scribbled like most children her age would do and it left indententions on the drawing board. She didn't play rough at all and only played with it for about 15 minutes. I feel like the writing surface would be covered in marks and dented spots in no time at all. I will be returning the two I bought. It's a great idea but didn't work out.
