I picked up this little guy because my Galaxy Note 3 of almost 2 years died and I needed a quick replacement until I decided on a permanent replacement. Though this phone is a lot smaller than my Note 3 I find it to be VERY capable. Android is is very smooth with no jitter at all (so far). The built in apps are very usable and it has a lot of features for such a low price (bluetooth, capable camera, dual core processor, etc). I was planning on a phone to just hold me over a couple of weeks till I got a permanent phone but i may stick with this one for a while. :)
This phone really surprised me! Packed with features and the phone was updated to 4.4.2 kit kat OS after using for one day a shock for a phone only costing $49! The screen not the best resolution but passable.
Bought to replace Samsung Galaxy and for a step down not a bad phone. Actually has updates compared to Samsung and continued 4g is nice. Not a heavy app person so storage is not an issue. For $50 dollars this is a solid smartphone.
I am smart phone challenged, so I have a lot to learn. It comes with all kinds of apps. Some of them I am not sure of, plus I use it as a go phone so it uses a lot of money, but it will use wifi. If you want a phone for the basics, you can't beat it. It is slim and sleek. I like it, I just need to learn how to use all of the features!
Dual core MTK processor and 512 RAM, internal ROM for apps and other is 8GB, and there is a SD card slot. Enough processor and memory for apps like Facebook, Instagram and others. Camera and screen resolution performance may be the limiting factors, the camera specifications do not meet my online banking (check deposit) requirements. And the screen is bright but you may notice that some images do not look as detailed as your friends $600 smartphone. You may not like... * No front facing camera (no selfies) * No auto-focus on the rear camera * KItkat 4.4.* - This still has problems storing apps on the SD card For $20, if you break your high dollar AT&T smartphone, you can go to Walmart and buy this or other GoPhone. You can put your SIM card in and your ready to go. This phone uses the micro-SIM size. You can always just use it as a regular burner GoPhone too. I tried to "root" this phone, Alcatel has added some security preventing normal methods from working. There is no "1-Click" root method. I never did root this phone.
The phones takes beautiful pictures, great for the internet and texting. The only thing you have to make sure of, is that when you are not in the internet, disable the mobile data feature. Otherwise the battery will run out fast.
Great little cell phone. Does everything my daughter needs and doesn't allow her to download all the apps of the world. Sound quality, screen quality, and processor speed are good and the battery lasts days for her. If I didn't have a Samsung S5 at work, I would definitely buy this little phone.
Had trouble with screen not locking fast enough accidentally calling people.tough to end call's.
I purchased this phone after checking to see if it would work in my area by putting my zip code into the little pop up box. It stated that it would. Once I got it set up and home, I have no service. I am not really surprised by that as only contract phones work here at my place. What disappointed me the most was the fact that I cannot get any apps to download onto it. I am not big on apps but there was one in particular I wanted. When I called a friend to see what was going on, he asked me what kind of phone it was, when I told him, he said might as well throw it in the trash now because you'll not get any apps to download on it. When I am at work, I can make and receive calls and texts, however I have 2 bars of signal strength. The bad part of that is an AT&T tower is just 1500 feet away.
This was an emergency purchase after drowning my phone while visiting family. It got me basic function but no picture messaging. You can make calls and text, that's about it.
