I had to order this because the store could not keep it in stock, it's that good. No problem, it came in within 5 days. I picked it up at the Walmart.com desk and went directly to the electronics dept and got it hooked up! Love the ease of ordering and picking up! Thank you Walmart!
This phone fits the bill for what we needed. My MIL needed a phone that had a good camera so she could take pics and send them via message or email once in a while. She's not going to load 20 apps and be posting to whatever all day long. And she'll make an occasional call. Although it would also support that behavior as well. The price was right and the service fits her budget so it was a good choice for her.
Easy to learn and use. Tracfone has a wonderful interactive tutorial that shows beginners the exact steps to using the features of their phone. Phone is good quality. The only thing I would improve is the small keyboard. I have small hands but it is difficult to press the correct letters. I learned to use the side of my finger . I also bought a stylus for long messages..
Small, light weight, bright screen, sharp screen, solidly built, fast enough with it's quad-core processor and with a battery that can last two days on standby if you turn off some of the power draining functions. It's features are not comparable to a $300, $500 or $700 phone, but it was a lot more than I expected from a $60 phone. Tried Tracfone's automated on-line activation but ended up having to call their 800 number to get my number ported over and phone activated. It was one of the best conducted technical support calls I've ever had and everything was fixed and working right with a single call. I would definitely recommend the phone to a friend and would definitely recommend Tracfone as a provider.
I received this phone to replace a tracfone that had a hardware problem. I have used tracfone for several years and like the ability to have a smartphone without the huge prices paid for phone and especially the service. This rebel is a nice phone with a lot of features including google voice search and voice command which will let you call someone with your voice. I have also used a micro sd card with this for extra storage for music and photos, but I have installed several apps on my internal storage and I have not run out of storage yet. I do not do gaming or things that would involve a lot of memory so it is good for me. I get good reception because this is a gsm phone. I would recommend that people check with others who get good reception in your area to see what carrier works best and then get the type of phone that works best for you. GSM works best for me because it works with A T & T and CDMA works best with Verizon. That is the way I understand it. I didn't need a lot of data because I use my wifi for the phone when I am home for browsing and that is where I use it most.
I love the phone, the only drawback I've found so far is that it doesn't have a magnetic sensor so I can't use a compass app. It's way faster than the 3G unimax that I had. Just have to get used the on/off button being on the upper right side. I hit it accidentally which logs me off and shuts off the display. Other than that, no problems!!
This phone has fairly good features for the price: 1 GB of memory, 8 GB of storage, and a quad core processor. The storage does fill up fairly quickly as you install apps, and though some can be offloaded to an external SD card, not all can, so the number of apps you can install is limited. This phone comes with Android 5.1, and there is no path to upgrade to Android 6, which is unfortunate. Still, it's a nice step up from an Android 4 phone. WiFi performance is great, and the phone includes GPS for precise location tracking. The camera quality (at 5 MP) is decent, though realistically only in good light. Activation in southeast Washington State, transferring a number from an old non-smart phone TracFone required the assistance of a TracFone customer service rep, but she eventually got things straightened out.
My wife needed a cell phone and we didn't want to be tied to a contract. We had used Virgin Mobile in the past and were satisfied, but it was for a flip phone only. My brother has been using a Tracfone for a long time, and loves it, so I decided to try them instead. I knew they used the Verizon network so the coverage was great. I wanted to get my wife a phone she could use for calls, but also for internet and texting (she has a small business.) Walmart has always been my "GOTO" store because the inventory is extensive, and they are either lower in price than the competitors, or are willing to meet their ad prices. In this case, the phone I wanted was on sale at a reduction of more than $20 from retail (at Walmart). Some competitors wanted up to $40 or more at retail higher than Walmart!! We even do our grocery shopping there because the prices and quality are unmatched. By the way, NO I AM NOT A SHILL for Walmart--Just a satisfied customer. I purchased the phone online, and picked it up later that day in the store. They notified me by email when it was ready. I'm 68 years old and a disabled Vietnam vet, so shopping this way is so much easier! God bless the helpful sales associates, managers, and God bless America!
This is my first smartphone, so I don't have anything to compare it to. I do have an ipad and am used to its navigation. I wanted an iphone, but they are too expensive. This LG phone is user friendly. It will just take awhile to get acclimated. It is much better looking than the pictures online. I expected it to be clunkier; it is slim and easy to handle. I am not a phone talker, so the Tracfone program is perfect for me. It is much easier to text on this phone as compared to my old flip phone. I am happy with my purchase.
The overall function of the phone is solid. My issues are with Tracfone. It took 24 hours and 3 agents to port my number, and transfer my minutes over from an older Tracfone. Then, this new phone would not work, because agent #2 didn't transfer my minutes, data, and text's over to the new phone. Agent #3 finally realized this, but couldn't do the transfer because he couldn't find a record of my past minutes from the old phone. Luckily, I had checked my account before the transfer began, and recorded what minutes, data, and text's I had remaining. #3 was able to add these minutes, data, and text's to my new phone, and all then became well. Tracfone did remove some functionality from the Android 5.1.1 operating system. The WiFi calling, and the On the Go(OTG) functionality was removed, even after I asked an agent via live chat if this phone had a full blown operating system.
