This phone is really simple and awesome, it has all the smart features that any other phone has and its a fraction of the price and no contracts, I use this phone for very simple needs, call, text, pictures, its great having the other features as well, I recommend it for those that are not married to their smart phones.
One of the best features, to me, is the 'call block'. I put everyone on my contact list not to be blocked. A telemarketer called, and the phone didn't even ring. It said 'missed call', with the number. I was able to look online to see who it was, and did I want to hear from them. I WAS worried that if someone I knew that wasn't in the list, I wouldn't know if they called. If you key in a telephone number to call, suggestions come up with people in your contact list. I especially enjoy the 'microphone' feature. I can go online, and speak the name of the web page I want, and it brings it right up. It is really handy for messaging. I was used to my old flip phone, where it took 15 minutes to key in 2 words. The case that came with the phone makes it a lot more comfortable to hold.
I helped a friend get this phone after his other phone quit ringing. We did a lot of research and this was the best for for the money. Now that he has had it for over two months, he is really pleased. Easy to use, works well and he loves the added use of music right on his phone! I would recommend this phone to anyone looking for a reliable phone.
Got this phone a week. I have been a TracFpne user for several years. We recently traded vehicles and my old phone would not pair up with phone system in car. Guess my Bluetooth was outdated. Decided to upgrade phones and found this online at Walmart.com. Read reviews and decided to give it a try. Its Bluetooth paired up with car's Bluetooth which really was what I needed it to do. Minutes transferred over from my old phone and the phone number. My old phone minutes are good until first of March. Purchased a new card but will not add til closer to expiration time. It is harder to find the ways to find out the status of minutes used and ending date. That is not automatically available like all my old phones were. Had to program in all my contacts but that was OK as I needed to update them, too. I liked the Contact format. It was much easier to use than my old LG. Texting is much easier to read. Took me awhile to figure out how to delete old texts by touching MENU left of HOME. I played around on punching various icons to see what was available. It is a mini-computer phone. It took overnight to transfer. So had to be patient-wasn't awake all night-just know it was done by morning. Still finding out new things about it. Love it and recommend to anyone who is computer literate. Walmart's.com was great to deal with and it came sooner than expected. They did not have this phone in the local store. I am a lady senior citizen.
The Stardust is one of the best options available for Tracfone's pre-paid service. This phone combines a dual-core CPU with a 5 megapixel rear camera, a front camera, along with a (for the price paid) decent 4 inch display with good brightness and viewing angle. The phone feels solid in the hand, though clearly plastic.. A "jelly" protective case and screen protector are also included. The phone is, outwardly, essentially similar to the older Galaxy Ace Style, but internally sports double the RAM and ROM storage. It is, notably, one of the few Android phones available from Tracfone with 8GB of internal storage. 4GB is available right out of the box. Most of Tracfone's other devices (including the vaunted Moto E) only have 4GB internal memory, yielding only 1-2 GB free for apps and photos. The Stardust is a 3G CDMA phone operating on Verizon's network. All is not rosy though: the camera lacks a flash, and the phone is, bizarrely, running the circa 2012 Android 4.3 Jellybean. The battery is a miserly 1500 mah, so perhaps it's fortunate that Samsung and Tracfone skipped the LTE support to keep the cost down. Taken altogether, a user attempting to downsize from flagship phone on a traditional carrier will find this phone lacking, but it's a great option for kids, as well as light and/or casual users. If calls and texts are infrequent, and data/app usage confined mainly to Wifi, Tracfone will offer the cheapest per-month running cost for a cell phone. Costs rapidly skyrocket if the phone usage is at a higher level. If you anticipate that the 200 minutes card will be insufficient to carry you the full 90 day service life, you would likely find a competing carrier with "unlimited" service (including Tracfone sister brands StraightTalk, Total Wireless and Net10) to be a more appropriate option.
Bought this phone/computer at a nice price of $39.99($40). Solid well designed Android Tracfone. I like functionality to use LAN and keep data network on only when I need it if LAN is unavailable. Battery capacity is great for use with cell phone and occasional applications and internet. Every Play Store App I installed works, including email, navigation, and maps. Installed Samsung 64GB Evo MircoSD card for files, music, pictures, and downloaded apps. I liked it well enough to buy 2 more for wife and son. Has clear sound, even with only 2 or 3 bars signal strength. Included protective screen was inverted with tacky side up so had to flip over and cut off upper left corner for light sensors and facing camera. Included protective back/edge cover is a plus because I don't need to buy one. I like Samsung's low SAR radiation levels. This phone, and all smartphones, are simply COMPUTER PHONES, a tiny computer integrated with a cellphone. If you intend to use a cellphone as a computer or tablet running applications or using LAN or data network for browsing and other internet activities, most people will need a 5" or larger screen and greater battery capacity than is available with this little gem.
being deaf, I've carried a voice phone only for emergencies. To get email and text, I've carried a tablet. I really don't need a lot and this device incorporated them and fits in a pocket, which was very important. It has the ability to do whatever you need, call, text and email, or go online for all the goodies and good stuff. I can go on FB from it, use attachments, etc. I can use maps and check whether and road conditions. Basically, it does everything I need. I'm not a serious user like some, I use a computer for most things, but this is for carrying and I don't have the risk of theft since it fits in my pocket. I would recommend a case to slip it in, and I have a stylus for it because it's very small keyboard and it helps. But this is great for its intended use. Very pleased with it altho there are so many apps on it and I haven't figured out how to get rid of most of them that I'll never use. I don't need all the apps. But that's a bit of research that I haven't done yet. Great item tho and with tracfone, I only pay what I need without some outrageous contract spanning years.
I have never had a smart phone so I have had some trouble working the phone. I have had to go tracfone a few times for "Live Chat" for help. They have been great with every question I have. The phone works good and has a number of features. There should be a better instruction book about all the features and how to find and use them.
good phone (so far) for what I need. upgrading from a flip-phone and not technologically savy......like the look and feel of the phone is what I had hoped for..., got it set up and able to use as phone. camera works easily. as far as setting up wi-fi will need to have a friend help me.....overall, however for what I was looking for, I believe I have found it.
Excellent camera on board. Good built in apps plus many more available for download. Easy to setup voice mail. On the bad side: the only online site providing tutorials for this phone went down permanently two weeks after I purchased this phone. So, Sansung deprecated/abandoned this phone. Plus, it requires a paid app to be able to get pictures from this phone onto a computer, etc. Great phone for those who are experts in smart phone usage. Poor choice for anyone else. I regret wasting money on this phone.
