Just decided to switch from Boost mobile to Virgin mobile, because plans on Virgin fit my usage better. Didn't want to spend a lot on a smartphone, so the LG Tribute fit the bill. If you decide to go with Virgin mobile, I would suggest buying your phone from Walmart over any other, because the phones and plans are cheaper than others, but you have to buy the phone from Walmart to get the cheaper plans. I like the way the phone is set up. Nice features. Smooth operating system. All you basic features are here. The only downsides I've encountered so far is the small internal memory (4GB) and the snooze on clock alarms not functioning properly. Besides that, I'm more than satisfied with the purchase.
I purchased for my brother as his first smartphone. It was very easy to figure out the apps and features. The only problem is when trying to answer a call; you have to swipe it several times before the call picks up. Overall, it is a good value for the price and features.
I've been with Virgin Mobile for a few years now and live in an area where the LTE signal is great. This phone doesn't have the highest resolution but has a 5GB camera that takes pretty good pictures. They're even better when you transfer them on to your laptop. For the starting price of $35 a month and with unlimited data (2.5GB high speed data) and text plus 300 minutes of talk, it's a great deal. This LG Tribute is $79 on the Virgin Mobile website but only $49.99 at Walmart- same phone, same packaging. The only downside is its small internal memory, so buy an SD card and move pictures and apps there. Win Win.
The phone performs as far as RAM, CPU and signal. The bloatware and low internal memory kill the phone. Constantly shuffling apps around and installing removing because of low internal memory. I would spend the extra $30 for the LG Volt if you can find it, or the extra $50 for get the LG Tribute 2.
I hate it. i have to tap more than twice. when i try to dial or click on a certain app, it gives me a hard time and its not easy to scroll, i cant get it stop talking. terrible from my experience.
Nice thing is the picture quality. Everything else is annoying. No storage space. The nice thing is I came from virgin mobile to virgin mobile USA and costumer service is so mich better. It did take me forever to get my # to port. But it eventually did and you can't beat the monthly price.
If you are a regular virgin mobile customer, or plan to use virgin mobile beyond this phone. DO NOT USE A DATA DONE RIGHT PLAN. The data done right plan is a separate entity from Virgin Mobile USA. I had this phone and tried to transfer my number to a normal Virgin Mobile phone. I am now on day 4 of talking to Virgin Mobile representatives without any luck. The representatives tend to have heavy accents and the phone service is poor where I live, so trying to communicate is nearly impossible. They will require SIX different numbers (ID of the Phone, you social security number, your old phone number, your temporary new number, your Data Done Right Port out number, and your Virgin Mobile Pin), so you can imagine how difficult it is to communicate all those numbers successfully. This may be a cheap phone, but that cost also equates to the quality of service you will receive. PROCEED WITH CAUTION.
This phone has absolutely no storage. It won't let me transfer most of my apps to my SD card. Apps that I had on that card on cheaper phones that I've owned. DON'T BUY THIS PHONE! Because it has no space even after I have removed my games, it won't update and doesn't work correctly. I have to keep resetting it to just answer a call or text.
I bought this phone and for the first couple of months it worked as it should. Then all of a sudden it switched up and wouldn't play my music! Everytime I go to play a song it pauses on it's own and plays like there are no headphones in when in fact there is. It is the same concept when I go to watch YouTube Videos. It glitched and Google Voice Search kept turning on without my command... It is awful. Just save your money and go for something with a higher price. I am so disappointed and have NO idea why there hasn't been a recall on this phone.
I bought two of these phones.. One for me and one for my man.. Long story short is both phones had many many issues.. Please dont waste your money like i did...
