Set up this hoop in 1 day with my family. Whole neighborhood is now planning on putting one up in their driveway. We did not put cement in pole (instructions recommend) but it doesn't seem to make a difference. We will add through top at later date if needed.....
This took us 2 days to put up. One to dig the hole and fill it and the pole with concrete and let it set (took about 8 bags of quick setting concrete) and just a few hours the next day to put it up. Didn't come with the non-slip tape like it said it should but called Spalding and they're sending it out in the 3 business days. It can be put on after the fact so no big deal. Goal is very secure once it's up. Great goal for the price!
Put this together over the course of a few days. Very easy assembly just had to wait for the cement to dry.
I purchased this from wal-mart.com and had no issues. Overall this goal is good for the price. Assembly takes a while due to the concrete but that was expected. I would suggest a 2 person assembly or possibly hiring someone to assemble completly including the concrete portion. The only thing I would consider a negative is the very noticeable flembsy backboard. Spalding could have invested a few more dollars on it. I'd have been glad to spend a few bucks extra. I hope that replacement backboards are available at a reasonable price if ever needed. Again, overall this is a good goal and for the money you can't beat it.
great set but a little hard to put together. instructions were a little hard to understand but went ok. did almost everything twice but it all came out ok. looks great for the money.
The instructions are a little quirky, but there is a YouTube video online in regards to this style and manufacture and the assembly of the adjustable bracket. You will definitely need two able-bodied persons to install this basketball system. The most physical activity you will have is digging the hole and pouring the concrete. Which is probably another $35 worth of materials. Sliding the pole/ assembled backboard into the anchor is a little tricky... It appeared to get "stuck" but I got on a ladder and twisted it via the back board and it slide right in!
product came right out before shipping date... easy installation with helpful instructions... after concrete set, hoop came together in about an hour.... would recommend to anyone with kids that are looking to get in the game..
The basketball hoop is used daily by our family. My sixteen years old son and I have great games and fun. if you want an affordable item to get your children playing outside instead of being video game zombie buy this in-ground basketball system.
A great product for the money. The assembly instructions are a little cumbersome and some of the parts were not exactly as listed in the instructions, but anyone with a little tecnical know how can figure it out easy enough. Do not skimp on the concrete, as this is what gives the pole its strength. I used over 500lbs and was sure to fill the pole with concrete as well. All in all, I would recommend this basketball system.
The entire in-ground system is not as sturdy as I hoped it would be. There is some movement with the backboard and pole when you are shooting basketball. As far as looks, very eye appeasing product, looks professional. I just wish it was more sturdy once you have it fully installed. Overall, good product for the price.
