This is a fantastic system, but there is a lot of work involved once this product is ordered. The boxes are delivered by an shipping company ... not FED EX or UPS. So you need to make sure that someone is home for delivery. The box the pole is in is actually a wooden long shipping create. Very heavy. The backboard box is the heaviest of all of them. Digging the hole for this system is not something that should be done by hand. Take it from me. HAHA But once the concrete, re-rod and j-bolts are in you're half way there. I added re-rod as a recommendation from a concrete person, but it's not required. Once the concrete is cured, then it's time to finish the installation. Putting the pole in place is easy. Attaching the large brackets is easy. But attaching the backboard is a tough one. We actually used the rear bed of a pickup as a stepladder. 2 people (prob need 3) held the backboard in place while a 3rd attached it to the brackets. Now the rest is easy. In the end I'm very happy with this system. Very solid and the kids love it!!!!!!!!!
Walmart even price matched even though the website said they originally don't.saved me $430. They even shipped the 420lb system to my home for $5...... Way to go walmart.....
Great product quality. Looks awesome up. I do however wish that the instructions would have been clearer. We bought the 60" backboard and there were parts left over that they include in the packaging fir the 72" backboard. A bit confusing as they do not note this anywhere in the instructions. Also, 2 spacers came out of backboard during shipping and when we attached the rim, the backboard shattered. Called Spalding immediately, and spoje with someone in customer service. They acknowledged the lack of information in some older boxes and reshipped a new backboard to our home. They definitely stand behind their product. Slight delay, but overall pleased. Best looking hoop in the neighborhood!
