Bought 3 for my martial arts school. We do throws and takedowns on them. No problems! They absorb the shock of the fall nicely. They tend to be a little heavier than I am use to. But again, no problem... Grab to have them. Everyone seems to enjoy them. I even threw a 230+ lbs. guy down on them with no reservations. The 2" padding really makes a difference! Great price too.
For anyone looking for exercise mats or grappling mats, these mats are just as good as any. Easy to transport, easy to maintain, Great mats!
sturdy & cushy
I use these mats to teach mixed martial arts. They are excellent, best I've ever used, for throwing, grappling, etc. I highly recommend them if you are going to install them in a room and leave them there. BUT... I have been storing them (folded), transporting them to the gym and laying them out twice a week for classes for a few months now. The velcro is starting to pull off in places and threads are breaking. Basically, they are not built to hold up to a lot of moving and transferring.
