You get what you pay for. I purchased two 4' paddles for a canoe, and one broke in the middle of the lake on the first trip with them. If you are just lightly paddling, then it is fine, but if you try to really get going, you will feel the shaft bending every time you push through the water. The one paddle bent right in the middle and was useless. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more for a quality pair or paddles.
