I've had a few of the cloud layers. There is some bulk in the fleece missing out of this one, similar to the cloud layer from 2014. The chest pocket is much larger, but the positioning of it higher and expanding it much high is to be desired. Other than that, a lot of compliments on it from passerbys.
Bought this several months ago (5-6) and have worn it just about daily until the cold fronts rolled in. It's a great jacket for kicking about town or even hiking. Today I noticed that the stitching on the right sleeve is coming out. This is the second jacket I have bought from EB within the last 6 months that has had poor construction quality. I'm bummed out yet again over this aspect. Other than the questionable sewing quality this is a super amazing jacket and well worth the purchase ( as long as the treading holds).
Cloud Fleece is a great product. It has a nice amount of wind resistance and is a great weight for layering or wearing under moderate conditions as an outer later. I have several of the half-zip versions in different colors. This is nice to have with the full zip to throw on quickly.
I got the tall version of this because fleeces often are short on my arms. This tall is REALLY tall both in the arms and the body. This is in contrast to a tall Eddie Bauer radiator fleece I got last year that fits OK but isn't so long in the arms and body. I don't mind the length of this cloud layer jacket as I would rather have it a little long than too short. I also got the sort of strange color, Breen, because it was on sale. The color actually looks pretty good on me and doesn't clash much with most of what I wear. I can hardly believe how warm the jacket is given how light it is. Remarkable! Overall I'm pretty happy with it.
I bought my husband one of these, and he lives in it. He likes it so much that he requested another. So now he has two. This is of good quality, fits well, is comfortable, and looks great. He is 6'1" and about 175 lbs, and wears the size Large Regular.
I purchased this for my 15 year old son in a Tall Large. He likes the jacket and the sleeve length is perfect for him, but I expected it to be a more substantial/thicker jacket. I would say that this is more useful as a layering piece in cold weather. He does like to wear it to school though as it is very lightweight.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everything was great until I first washed and dried it. When I washed and dried this for the first time, the pocket attached to left chest came out (image attached). I guess the glue they put it on was no longer sticky. Honestly, I was very excited to have this fleece but shortly after this quality gave me a big disappointment.
I first ordered an XL/Tall Jacket. Returned it because it was way too large. Totally my fault. Request a Large Jacket. Received a Large/Tall. Quality of clothing has gone down hill. Example: Had a pair of cargo pants, bought another pair in the same size which turned out to be too small. How can one pair of 36/32 fit me comfortable, and the other pair of the same pants/same size not fit? I have watched your prices increase over the years, and quality of the product decrease.
The appearance of the garment is fine but when you try to put it on you realize it is not their usual quality. The lining is not secure and will not stay in place. I had to purchase Velcro to secure the lining in the collar and sleeves. The zipper tab is on the opposite side of the usual men's garment, appears to be made for a woman. Normally I would have returned the coat but it was given to me as a gift from my wife and she was excited to give it to me so I would feel bad returning the coat.
I received this product in a timely manner, but that's it. The fleece was cheap in material. The chest pocket won't hold anything larger than a matchstick. The zipper is very poor quality and I think it will break soon. Then, to top it off, it had a cut on the outside. It seems as though quality control is nonexistent. It is not worth the money it cost. EVEN if there wasn't a cut in the front. Eddie Bauer fleece is much less in quality as compared to just a few years ago. I think I will examine the product at the store before any further purchases.
