Came across this Rainfoil Packable Jacket while shopping for outerwear for a trip to dreary, rainy northern Europe. Perfect weight (warm but not too warm). Easy to add layers underneath. Plum color sealed the deal!
I bought this for my sister as a bday prezi. She is 5'10" and around 180lb. She LOVES it. Also, I got one for myself a year or so ago in a PXL and it fit me well (5'2" 160lb)
Great quality, great fit. I use it for rain all the time and it's a must have when camping for chilli nights
I love this jacket!! I'm a geologist and this jacket is perfect for field work. It packs into my bag easily since it folds up into itself! It's breathable and lightweight plus is super cute and flattering! Big enough so you can wear layers under it but not too big where it looks baggy just by itself. Definitely recommend buying this!! It works great for camping, hiking, skiing, or just running around town.
If I designed the Women's Rainfoil Packable Jacket, I'd stick with the overall look: with the stand-up collar and perfect cut, it's beautiful! I also love the functional hood, color choices (especially the deep red) and length. I would, however, upgrade to a larger zipper so that it zips easier. I would replace the velcro on the front of the jacket with good quality snaps, and I'd replace the velcro on the interior pocket with a zipper. I'd also upgrade the thin velcro strips on the cuffs with wider, beefier quality velcro. Despite these issues, I still like this raincoat.
This is my second one I've owned. The first held up fairly well, considering that I used it in Costa Rica for a few years during rainy season. I do wish that it had a two-way zipper & a removable hood. Other than that, I love the eggplant color and that it keeps me dry.
This is a well made raincoat in a beautiful muted green color. It has an insulated lining, zip pockets, an inside pocket and drawstring to tighten the hood which is great! It fits well in the body covering my hips and bum and the fabric is excellent at repelling the rain. The sleeves are too long for me, but as they have Velcro round the wrist area it has not been a problem, plus having more length in the sleeves means I can cover up my hands to keep warm if need be.
I couldn't decide on a color but Bayberry kept calling my name. It's similar to a Coral but with a POP!!! So glad I decided on the color and size because I could wear a sweater or hoodie underneath if needed. Perfect for that rainy day kind of weather but you can't help but be noticed because of the color!!!
It is good quality, and I think I will like it. It's a little smaller than a similar jacket I have in the same size, but it will work as long as I'm not wearing something heavy under it. My main complaint is that it came with no information on care or how to pack it into the pocket -- And the packability is the main reason I bought it! I have not been able to make it fit into the pocket.
I really wanted to love this jacket as I researched for weeks to find the perfect casual rain jacket. When I tried it on it was a little tighter around the hips than I like as I prefer a loose fit but if I pulled it up a bit it worked. My husband said it looked nice and talked me into keeping it. But after a few wears I noticed the zipper kept unzipping from the bottom which I ignored, thinking it was a two way zipper. But after a it kept unzipping and getting stuck I decided to return it. Now, sorry to say, I am back to the drawing board...looking for the perfect casual rain jacket
