Punch away your stress

We were looking for a new way to rev up our workout and found it. The SlamMan is a great upper body workout and an amazing way to relieve stress. Have a bad day at work with Susan or Steve? Go home and spend 10 minutes with your SlamMan. All that stress . . . GONE! Looking to build your upper body in a fun, new way? Pick a program on your SlamMan. With the different programs, it's far from boring. And the time really flies while you're using it! It's been a great addition to our Nordic Track Elliptical and BowFlex.

I love my slam man!! I have only had this since Christmas, but I love it. It was exactly as I expected it to be. The most helpful part so far is the instruction video. I am a total beginner, but so far so good. I would recommend this product for everyone.

I purchased this for my husband and 5 boys. This is not only a great workout, but for our frustrated teenagers it keeps them from hurting each other. The 2 year old puts on the youth gloves (not included) to get his punches in also. The only thing was that it does require a lot of sand. We actually had to put more than the recommended amount to keep it from moving and now it can't be moved to anywhere else in the house unless you have a crane!!! All in all a great product for our family. I do recommend this product to potential buyers.

The slam man really is a wonderful unit for cardio workouts. It was very intense and I wasn't even on the highest level.

Slamming the Slam Man

This is a great Product. I primarily bought it so my kids can have something to take their frustrations out on when they get angry and it has been great for that and for my frustrations as well. The only problem I have had with it is that the double sided tape does not hold the control in place. If we decide to use the programs in it we have been having to place the control on a chair next to the slam man. If you buy this product, just remember to also pick up an oil funnel at the same time to get the sand into it.

i really like my slam man. it was very messy to set up... make sure you get an oil funnel with the biggest opening you can find. i like the variable speeds but 2 seems a little slow and 3 is a little too fast, and the programs get routine pretty quick (i haven't tried the random setting yet). but it is a good workout and different from the ordinary jogging etc. it does move after you have been hitting it for a while but it doesn't move across the room or anything (I just pause it and move it back in place). the slam man is not about punching something as hard as you can, it's about speed. after just a couple minutes you will realize you can't go very long if you are trying to hit it full force

The best way to put the sand in is with a sunny delight bottle. The round bottle with no handle. It screws in tight and with the bottom cut off you have a huge opening to pour in the sand. Although I wouldn't recommend sand. Use pennies or gravel. If you ever have to move it, you'll be happier dumping out pennies or gravel on your floor.

Fun to hit

I was excited at the relative ease of assembling this product, with the exception of the small hole for filling the recommended 240 lbs of sand. I should also mention that mine would easily take another bag of sand or two and saw another review that recommended 300lbs. Regardless, once the sand was in the unit, it was great. Although I was surprise at how much a 240 lb. punching dummy moves around, especially with the head shots. The product comes with regular sized bag gloves, which are decent enough in quality, but were a little small for me (6'2 225lbs) so I had to upgrade to some larger gloves. My upgrade was UFC style fingerless gloves, but I do not recommend them for this product as hitting the SlamMan with parts of your hand that are not covered with the glove is painful! All in all this is a fun product to use and all of the friends and family that I have introducted to SlamMan think he's pretty wild.

Poorly Constructed

I love to box and was excited to get Slam man. Although I had read other reviews that commented on it's cheap contruction I still purchased it. I experienced the same problems other consumers have had as well. When extended to it's maximum height it kept falling down and then the second time the plastic piece holding it up broke. Also, even when filled completely with sand it still moved all around the the room which was annoying. I think it was constructed with a smaller female consumer and not a 6'4" 225 lb guy like myself. I would totally be willing to pay more for a better constructed punching bag because the concept is great!
