My 7 year old insisted on a bike without the hand brake and they don't make many of them, but this was one and it's a great bike. I really liked ordering it online and saving about $7, even though I had to put a few things together. My only complaint, they give you the whole set of instructions even though a lot has already been put together so it's hard to figure out which parts pertain to the pieces you have to put together.
this was a gift for a special little boy who loved it!
The bike was easy to put together and looks great. The price could not be beat either. I recieved my shipment within 3 days of placing my order over the phone, because the bike I had originally chosen was sold out. I asked the associate to find something similar for the same price. I was pleasantly suprised to get such a quality bike. The only downside is that I would have prefered hand brakes. But overall....Excellent!
If you are looking for an affordable bike this is it. It is a very good bike and my son loves it.
I bought this product for my grandson. He loves his Christmas present. I was very satisfied with the quality. And I ws immensely satisfied with the delivery of the bike to the store site. My only issue was that one of the parts was broken. However, overall, I am very satisfied with the level or service.
This was a great deal for my boys for christmas... The only issue was that each bike was missing a pertinent piece SOOOO the husband had an awful loooong christmas eve night trying to get these bikes together! But once we got everything together properly Christmas morning was awesome!
If you consider this bike a "disposable bike" when you purchase it and only need it to last a year...more or less, it is a decent value. The reason it is disposable is because once your rear brake assembly fails (which it will, just like another reviewer wrote) it will be cheaper just to buy a new bike than to repair this one. Otherwise, the bike worked fine up until the point where the parts in the brake hub broke apart rendering the bike useless. Perhaps I should have bought a Schwinn like I grew up on but this bike was in my budget. I gave expectations 3 stars because I basically knew I wasn't buying a quality brand...I just wasn't expecting complete failure of the bike.
My 9 yr old son received this bike for Christmas. One month later, I'm returning the bike back for a second time for a new one. The pedal BROKE off both bikes. So on average the bike lasted for two weeks total. This time I'm going to upgrade to a different brand.
I bought this for my son as a birthday present but it was about 5-6 months before he actually started riding it on a daily basis. Within two months (maybe 40-50 hours of riding), the sprocket assembly disintegrated rendering the bicycle useless. The price was nice and the bike was attractive but the quality is poor. On a positive note, the associates at the Walmart store I purchased from were very helpful in getting me all the information I needed to contact the manufacturer - but of course the warranty had expired.
I bought this bike with ship to store. Other reviewers suggested I do that so if there was something wrong with the bike it would be an easy exchange. Here is my experience. It arrived in a decent time. Strike 1. When I went to get it, it had a dent in the box and a scratch on the bike. I said I wanted another, they said fine, go look on the shelf, and see if one is there. Strike 2. But, Even though I wanted the same exact item, the internet and the store have different pricing, so I might have to pay more. Strike 3. When I went to pick one from the shelf, as the saleperson was getting one down, I noticed a scratch on that one too, so he put it back. And in the process of putting it back, the bike got a flat. Strike 4. When I looked at the 3 others on the shelf, they all had scratches on them. So I just returned it and gave up on the bike. Either they are not made well, and scratch easily, or somewhere along the way the products are all getting damaged. THe bike looks nice, but I can't imagine my experience after purchase would have been good either.
