I live in a dorm room, so a large tank is out of the picture. This tank is the perfect size for my room. I removed the divider so my one betta fish has more room. Very pretty to look at. The gravel, plants, and tank all go nicely together. Much nicer (and cheaper) than similar tanks that Petsmart sells.

Works For Me.

Okay so heres the deal the first tank i bought like this did leak after like a couple years of having it so eventually i bought this one that i have now. It works great and it doesn't take up space. Personally, i find that the water doesn't get as dirty as it used to with the 1st one and i think because of the rocks. Anyway for those who say their fish(es) died within days or weeks, maybe you just got them from the wrong place. I have two in the tank and i've had them for like 2 years now. So i personally find that this tank works for me and with proper Betta care it could work for you too.

For my Bettas

I bought this a while back for my two bettas, 1 girl and 1 guy. at first I kept the divider in there and then eventually took it out. This aquarium is perfect for the two of them! I was hesitant at first because I was afraid it wasn't going to hold up or leak or something, but that's not the case! it's perfect. EXCEPT the drain tool on the bottom doesn't work well, so you still have to take everything out and dump it to clean it.

Not a home for bettas

I bought this product as a holding tank for when I clean my bettas 3 gallon tank. Most bettas need atleast 1 gallon IMO and WalMart does have the 1 gallons for $10. Please be really cautious about using this for permanent housing for any fish because it's highly UNrecommended and always ALWAYS do your research first before getting a fish.

Temp Tank

Although this tank is pretty good for a temp tank, I wouldn't recommend it as a permanent home for your Bettas (or any fish). My two Bettas currently reside in two large (clear-glass) decorative flower vases. And for those of you who have bought Bettas or any fish from walmart that have died after getting them home, it's probably due to the security scanners when you leave. They are thought to kill the fish shortly after leaving the store. (When you leave the store, hold them above the tops of the security scanners http://ask.metafilter.com/15372/Deactivated-Fish

Not so great.

I had two male bettas and I needed a tank I could put them in to travel cross country when I was moving. I purchased this "tank" to place them in while we traveled so I wouldn't have to buy to separate, small tanks. The center divider would wiggle and wobble all over the place, my male bettas quickly learned they could push on it to give themselves more space, but take away space from another. The top we had to tape down because my fish were able to 'jump' up and knock the lid off, nearly throwing themselves out several times with it. I never had problems with the bottom plug leaking, in fact, I encountered issues trying to remove it to clean the tank- it got stuck a lot. I also found myself cleaning it multiple times a day because the water would get murky so fast with the two fish in there. I would never use this as a permanent tank for my fish, no way. Its much too small with or without the divider. Now I just use it to place my fish in when I go to clean their real tanks, but I could just use a cup or a bowl for the very same thing.

I am the local Fish Expert at the Covington Wal-Mart and am known for my helpful information. I know and love all my fish. Though this product is cheap and claims to be great for 1-2 Betta it is in fact unhealthy for any fish for a period of time longer that 48 hours. A single Betta needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water to have a long and happy life. The 1 gallon Aquaview, that is available at your local Wal-Mart for about $10, is a fantastic tank for beginners with a Betta. Or if you are interested in possible tank mates for your Betta a nice tank to try is the 5 gallon kit for about $30. It is large enough to allow room for your Betta to have his own space and if he is friendly enough a few little friends such as Neon or Glolight Tetras. But you should always watch your Betta for about a week before attempting to add other fish. Some Betta don't like to be alone and some don't like friends.

Not worth it ...

The product is affordable ... but it' still not worth it. I bought 1 - and the bottom started leaking ... so I returned and exchanged for another one, and it was still leaking! There's not enough room for my betta to swim around without the divider, let alone 2! Do yourself and your fish a favor - don't get this ... waste of $5.

Very awful product!

I have a small betta fish (isn't full grown). I brought this product so I could have a holding area when I cleaned my betta's fish tank. I put the betta in one of the divided areas and he barely had room to turn around. This is awful for 2 bettas! I did remove the divider and so it works as a one tank betta fish holder but definitely not as a two fish betta holder.
