[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sleepy Baby Nail Clippers Are excellent nail clippers. I love the little light on them. It allowed me to easily see how far to cut.
I love these clippers for my baby they work so well and the light is the perfect touch! I have a hard time seeing when I try to clip their nails normally but the light makes it way easier. I even use these on my older kids (8 and 9 year old) and they don't give me any trouble I will definitely get these again if something were to happen to this pair!
As a parent of four children and the aunt who is always called to clip the nails of my nieces and nephews because my sister is afraid of cutting them I have quite a bit of experience with baby nail clippers. I found the Sleepy Baby Nail Clippers easily clipped my nephews nails without leaving rough, jagged edges. Other clippers have fallen short in the past by either not completely clipping the nail and ripping it or leaning the clipped nail rough. The Sleepy Baby Nail Clippers did not at all. They made a nice clean cut that didn't require filing afterwards and didn't leave me worried about my nephew scratching himself because of a jabbed edge. I loved the built in light! It made seeing his little nails so much easier, which made cutting his nails take less time than usual. The Sleepy Baby Nail Clippers are easy to hold and the perfect size, even for my husband's larger hands. The quality of these clippers is above the quality of others I have used in the past. They are sturdy and well built. I will definitely recommend these to all moms and dads I know with little ones.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The nail clippers are sharp. You need to be cautious with how far you put the baby's nail into the clippers. Also these work best when baby is sleep. I do like the sharpness because it gets the job done quickly.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sleepy baby nail clippers was interesting. I liked the lights on the nail clippers, however it has difficult clipping edges. It's definitely a good product to use when the baby is sleeping.
I loved this product (I own the green/yellowish one) until it snapped and the tiny part that hold it together flew in my face as I was trying to cut my infants nails. I found the small metal joint that holds the two larger pieces together on my baby's shirt after it flew out as I tried to cut a nail. I tend to use products (especially for baby) only as directed and I wasn't doing anything that I wouldn't normally do with these. It freaked me out because this piece could have hit me in the eye or worse, landed in my baby's mouth or eyes. I used this product seamlessly on my first child for three years and I loved it, however, it breaking while using seems very dangerous. The fact that it has reportedly happened to others is concerning. I've recommended to friends but I don't think I can any longer.
The light up clippers are a good idea in theory. The lights are bright and help to see the nail. That being said, my baby woke up every time I tried to clip his nails. So I had to do it when he was awake. These clippers are hard to use on a small baby's wiggling fingers and toes. Since the lights come all the way to the edge of the clippers, there's no good way to get the nail under the clippers. It is hindered by the lights. Unfortunately, these did not work well for my 7 month old. I will try again when he's older and his nails aren't so tiny and hard to clip.
I was excited to try these out with having the built in light thinking it would make it easier to see my child's nails to cut. I did not use them in the dark while they were sleeping but during the day for some added light. The light was too bright and made it difficult to see his nails to make sure i didn't clip too far. I took it slow to cut them to make sure I didn't get any skin in it but with a wiggly child these did not work well. They were bulky and hard to see. I would go back to using a normal nail cutter without the light.
Our clippers broke and shot apart striking my child in the cheek below his eye. He was terrified but not injured. He would clearly not be OK if it was slightly higher in his eye. Unacceptable for a product called safety 1st to be so utterly dangerous and poorly made that this isn't the first complaint about similar breaking issues. We can't find a small piece that I assume failed, so we now have a small piece of metal somewhere in our house.
