Great gate for the price.
I was surprised at how easy this gate was to set up straight out of the box. It took less than 5 minutes to install it. The quality of this gate is excellent, it is very sturdy and very pleasant to look at. I have a 17 month old toddler and I feel very safe having this gate in the hallway to keep her out of rooms I don't want her in. There is no way she can open the gate and the lock is easy for adults to open but not a toddler. The heaight is good as well, my girl is almost 3 ft tall and it is perfect height and will be for a while. I can't stress enough how much I love this gate, it is a good investment if you want something that is sturdy and trustworthy to have for a child.
I really love this gate... I have 3 children and 2 puppies, and this gate is holding up great! It looks really nice and is relatively simple to assemble/put up and the hinged door definitely is a nice change of pace (no having my children trying to climb over the gate, not having to take down and put up constantly, etc.). The only downside to this gate is that it is a little difficult to get the tension rods super tight on the bottoms sometimes, and if the gate is uneven, the hinged door can become difficult to open, but this product is definitely a great product and I would highly recommend it.
Love the looks of this gate. The opening is nice and large to walk through. At first I had a little difficulty with opening the gate. Had to use 2 hands. But after very little use, it is not as stiff and can open with one hand.
I love that the gate is sturdy and has a wider opening to walk through. I wish it extended fro much bigger doorways
I received this gate a week or two ago and immediately installed it in the kid's bedroom doorway. I didn't have any trouble putting the pieces together and it was up in a matter of minutes - so that was nice that I could do it on my own, without tools, and with two kids running around. However, I wasn't sure if I was turning the tension knobs too much or not enough because it seemed like they would have kept turning, even though the instructions said to only turn it two full times (I wish they were marked so I knew where one turn was#. The gate seems pretty sturdy even with my kids #almost 4yo and 16 month old# hanging on it half the time and pulling on it trying to open it. I do have trouble from time to time getting it to open on the first try, since you have to pull the button and lift the gate up a little to open #another reason why I'm not sure if it's in right); but I like that my toddler can't open it like some other gates. It also swings in both directions so no matter which way you're going it won't be in your way trying to walk through. Overall, I would still recommend this gate since it was relatively easy to install and use, and it does its job of keeping the kids in/out of other rooms even if opening on the first try is hit or miss - it's nice that it works for what it is supposed to do, and doesn't ruin my doorways.
Gate is hard to open with one hand for me. You have to pull upwards a bit and then swing open. It is sturdy and looks very nice. I am using as pet gates. Very satisfied with the overall look and design.
Overall a very good product. My toddler is a climber and other gates I used previously had a long release handle across the middle of the gate which he would climb in an attempt to go over the gate. This gate has no areas where my toddler can even attempt to climb over keeping him safe on the ground. Also like the hinged door, no need to remove the gate entirely in order to get through although the release latch is a little difficult to use.
The door doesn't reach the latch. This is a problem with all the brands. My puppy can't fit through so I decided to keep and got a discount. It is not worth $50 same dollars.
The gate looks really good, but was not as easy to open as I had hoped. I currently have a different Evenflo gate that I prefer. I have small hands and found this gate hard to open one-handed. I also would like a gate that my 7 year old and 4 year old can operate, but my 1 year old can't. The older kids couldn't operate this at all, and the 7 year kept jumping over it. It was easy to install and if only adults are operating it, it might not be that bad.
