I purchased an Evenflo Easy Walk-Thru gate because I own an older model of this same gate and I love it. The gate handles have been updated. The newer gates are much easier to open. I've had babysitters and guests tell me that they can't open the older version of this gate. The new gates are a breeze. The new gates keep my daughter away from the basement stairs and keep the dog out of the kitchen. I like the neutral color. FYI- some reviewers commented on the gates being "bent out of shape" after removing it from the box. I would recommend reading the instructions before setting up the gate. The gate is super easy to set up. There are several cardboard signs and plastic warning stickers that tell you how to set up the gate properly. These customer reviewers must have removed the multiple warning devices from the gate before they found out it was a tension gate and would appear "bent".
I was very pleased with this product. We needed to get a gate that would prevent our crawling daughter from going right out the door. I wanted this gate so we wouldn't have to step over it rather we could just walk through. Once you get the hang of how to unlock and open it at the same time it is pretty easy to use. It is very sturdy and easy to set up. I would for sure recommend this to anyone that needs a baby gate.
We purchased this gate for our kitchen entry way. It fit perfect with the extender piece. The door was perfect & so convenient. We had purchase a gate Before with no door and what a pain to remove and Put back on or worst trying to get over it My starting to walk baby can still see me and It's really my little area of peace LOL.
I just changed my 2 year old daughters crib over to a toddler bed. I bought this gate to keep her confined to her room until I could go get her. This gate is awesome! She can't climb over it, and she can't open it. The gate is taller than I expected it to be, and I can put it in all of my doorways, even the front door! It even keeps my two dogs from getting loose, so it doubles as a pet gate! It came with one extension, but if your doorways are wider than 39'' then you will need more gate extensions, so measure your doorway before you buy! :) Overall, it does its job, and the price was great considering that it is a metal gate. I am very happy with this purchase!
This baby gate has worked great ever since we received it! It was easy to put together, you can screw it in the door frame or just use the tension feature. We love that it has a “door stop” on the bottom. That way if you are going in and out through the gate you do not have to keep releasing the latch. we are babysitting an "old kitten" for our son and didn't want to wake up each morning with her sitting on our pillow. Order arrived on time as promised and was easy to position between railing and wall. We did place the gate at the top of the stairs (which works well for a small kitten) and did so knowing she wouldn't be pushing too hard to dislodge it otherwise everyone else should follow the suggestions to ONLY place in doorways. Really appreciate the fact that we can now easily travel between floors without having to wedge in then remove other types of expansion gates being offered. If using for this type of application, make sure the openings on the ends are not too large to allow pass-thru. Great product.
With 2 young children and 4 dogs, a gate is a must for the safety of all. The Evenflo Multi-Use Décor Tall Walk-Thru Gate is an amazing product. It looks stylish in my house and keeps everyone out of my office. I love that it is tall enough so that my older daughter cannot open it. In order to open this gate, you have to slide the button and then lift up and push the gate. This is a great feature if you have kids (or dogs) that have previously learned to open gates by just pushing or pulling them hard enough. So far my kids (and incredibly smart huskies) have not figured out how to open it. Another awesome feature of this gate is the small latch on the bottom to the gate which restricts which way the gate can be opened. I imagine this would be particularly helpful if the gate was at the top of the stairs and you only want it to open one way. I found it helpful as a second precaution to keep my children and animals from trying to push it open. They can't push it if it only opens one way. As for ease of use, this gate is a breeze to use. It comes with two extender panels to fit a space up to 48” and also comes with the pressure mounts and brackets (for staircase use). It took me about 5 minutes to take it out the box and set it up. The gate's open and close mechanism is intuitive for adults and works perfectly. This is the best gate I have ever used and would recommend to all friends and family with children or pets. I have a granddaughter and small dogs, so this gate is perfect for both safety benefits is enough for me now to be the owner of two of these gates. They do the job very well!!!
I purchased two of these gates for our new home, and when I finally had a chance to install them, I was already pretty wore out..however..on the bumper screws there are two pieces, one is flat and white (which touches the wall) and the other is thicker and coordinates with the gate color..before you start spinning the coordinated color piece, make sure it freely screws in the opposite direction of the white piece..I spent nearly 30 minutes trying to figure out why the gate wouldn't securely mount before I realized that..
Good deal, but I returned it. Because it only has one 6"extension. My stairway wide is around 35" which is too wide without extension and too narrow with extension. Be careful if your home wide open is around 35" (gate 29"+ extension 6")
