I received the product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel and I have already purchased a few more! The lock easily slides over the knobs for our cabinet, and it was very easy to slide the lock. We are confident that this will keep our little one from getting into the cabinets.
This lock was a life saver! We recently moved into a new place and my son easily figured out all other cabinet locks. This lock has kept him out of the harsh chemicals we store under the sink. They're easy for parents to open and close but hard for my 2 year old to figure out. Installation did not require any drilling or hammering so this mama was happy I didn't have to damage our brand new cabinets. This 2-piece package from Safety 1st Double Door Lock is very effective in keeping our 15-month-old twins out of household cabinets! They are very simple to install and not easily removable by a child's standard yet just fine to remove by an adult. They do stand out a bit yet do the trick. Overall, the instillation of the lock was simple. Our toddler LOVES to figure out how things work, and how to undo all of the locks he is presented with. This is the only lock we have found so far that he just leaves alone. The design is perfect for any type of double door with handles because it is adjustable. The lock can move close together, or stay further apart. It unlocks easily as well. This has been the best lock product we have used on our cabinets. We have recommended it to my brother who also has a busy toddler, and some friends!
The Safety 1st Double Door Lock is a definite must have with babies and small children in the house. I love the black color option. I have had it in white previously and was very pleased to see it comes in black as well to seamlessly blend with my cabinet hardware. This lock is very easy to install, I installed it in seconds. It is easy as well to unlock for adults, yet I trust that it will do as it is supposed to and keep my children from getting into things that are unsafe for them. I would recommend this lock to anyone who has small children in their home. It gives me peace of mind that my children will be safe while being able to play and explore in their home. Me & my husband love these safety 1st cabinet slide locks! They take 2 seconds to install and once they are on are incredibly easy to open and close the cabinets. You can do it with one hand while holding the baby in the other. We have them in our kitchen where we keep cleaning products and then where the dog's food is! This keeps our baby out of these cabinets for safety! (He doesn't love them too much ) I would definitely recommend these for any parents with young babies/toddlers who like to explore where they aren't supposed to! The Safety 1st Double Door Lock is incredibly easy to install and within seconds we were able to keep my newly crawling infant out of the cabinets that could cause harm. This lock is well-made and sturdy. We tested it out with our adult strength to see if my little one would be able to tug and break it off; he won't be able to! Unlike the cabinet locks that require the use of an adhesive, this lock is one solid piece. This allows us to install it now, and reinstall it elsewhere if needed later. The main complaint I have is that it is a little more tedious to take on and off of the door handles than other systems. I personally have to use two hands to reinstall it properly on the doors. So, if you are going to use this, make sure that it is on a cabinet that you don't need to access while also holding your little one. It is just perfect for things like under the kitchen and bathroom sinks though; areas where we tend to store cleaning products and other hazards for our babies. I also had trouble installing it on knob-style handles, as shown in the image on the packaging. But I have the handles that are pulls on other double doors and it worked great! I was given this baby proofing item to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Overall I liked this door lock a lot. It was extremely easy to install on two separate locations. Each double door was locked safely from prying hands. The design makes the lock very easy to use and therefore not a burden to put it on and off of the door. The only thing I did not like was that the plastic is rigid which made it hard to use on a cabinet with protruding doors. I would definitely recommend using this product to my friends and family.
I received this Safety first baby proof door lock to try from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I was intrigued to try it, as many cabinet doors in my childhood home had a similar lock and I always struggled with it. While this certainly does the job of securing a closed door (under the bathroom sink has many dangerous cleansers!), I would not be so quick to recommend this as an option. I did not find the lock easy to use. The sides need to be squeezed uncomfortably in order to install and remove, making it not very user friendly for frequent use. It did not fit on the hardware of many of my cabinets, and in my opinion, lends a sloppy look to a closed door.
