I would highly recommend this crib to anyone. The color is almost the true color (it's just slightly more orange/red in person. It's truly a beautiful crib. The pictures don't do justice for it. I have seen other reviews on here saying how unstable it is - but I think I know the problem. If you follow the directions in the book when putting on the legs to the headboard, it tells you to pull the legs down to lock the brackets. However, you really need to pull the headboard down (legs up) to lock the brackets. Once the crib was done, I pulled and pushed on it and it didn't budge one bit. It's a very stable crib.
We purchased this crib for our daughter after our previous crib was recalled. My main requirement was that it was sturdy with no moving parts, since the reason our previous crib was recalled was a problem with the drop side. We have had this crib for over a year now and it has been WONDERFUL! My 2-year-old sometimes likes to kick the side when she is supposed to be napping, but it has held up great. I also love the fact that the hardware doesn't show, which I believe gives it a much more expensive appearance. I don't think you could find a better crib anywhere for the price!
This is by far the best crib I have ever purchased. It was quite a surprise to have a child at my age.I have 4 grown children and 9 grandchildren. There were no conversion type cribs back in those days. I highly recommend this crib to everyone! And it wasn't that hard to put together!
My husband and I put this crib together very quickly with no problems. We felt that it was very sturdy and seems to be a great value for the price. It looks very nice in our nursery and I don't think anyone would know that we didn't pay a fortune for it. I am glad we didn't spend more on a crib as this one will do just fine!
This is an exceptional product for the price. I would highly recommend it to expectant parents. It was fairly easy to assemble. It helps if 2 people work together, of course. It is VERY sturdy. If someone finds it unsturdy, they may try disassembling it and reassembling it because if assembled correctly it should be fine. If it is a defect I would recommend returning it for another as ours had no problems whatsoever. The design also went so well with our farm babies theme.
this is a very solid, stable crib. not "shaky" like others i have had. easy to put together. the only thing i noticed is that the finish can mar pretty easily, so hopefully baby won't chew on it when he gets bigger. there are no teething barriers (like plastic). i like the solid back because pacifiers don't fall behind the crib. i was hoping the color would be a little less "golden" like one reviewer said, but i can't complain because it looks like the picture. i thought the price was fine. i sold the old crib for $40 so that made it even better:) i am a foster parent so i have had a crib in my house for 37 years. this is the nicest one we have had. it does not have a drop side (seems like they are doing away with that feature more and more). i think that is one reason the crib feels so solid.
I was apprehensive on buying this online becuase of the many reviews that said the color was different. I had actually wanted something darker than what is in the photo, and not finding anything else anywhere else, gave in and purchased this set. WHAT A SURPRISE!! The color was exactly what I had been looking for!! It IS darker than the picture (see uploaded photos), somehwere between a true honey and a good cognac, and I absolutely love it! Very rich looking for a fraction of the cost other cribs like this are going for. It was simple to put together, although the directions did seem vague. I am just very good at looking at things and figuring out how they go together. I did it with the help of my father. He was sitting in a chair the whole time (he's been ill) and I was 8 months along. So simple, it took about 15 minutes! It seems very sturdy! The mattress support fit snugly, as did a standard mattress inside. The crib DOES come with a side rail for later use as a toddler bed, which I was happy about. Baby has not arrived yet, so we will see ow it stands up to wear and tear, but overall I am extremely satisfied! The box it came in actually had a huge gash in it, and I was afriad there would be damage to the wood parts inside, but everything was packaged so well with foam padding and cardboard that there was not a scratch on it!! My only wonder is how it will be to lean over the side as baby get bigger and I drop the level of the mattress, seeing as the side rail is static and does not move.
This bed is very pretty and I love it. I am angry that it was damaged in delivery. The box was torn and dented badly. There are two giant gashes in the wood. If my baby wasn't about to be born, I would have exchanged it. The bed itself is great. It comes with the toddler rail, which most other cribs you have to buy it separately.
I bought this in white. It's very cute and sturdy for the price. I found one problem with this crib and was very disappointed because it was a deciding factor in buying it. The item description reads This beautiful design from Carters is warm, simple and clean. No exposed hardware together with a full length storage shelf across the bottom will insure that new parents have plenty of storage for baby. This crib does not come with a storage shelf.
The crib is very pretty, however the head and foot boards shake and rattle when it is put together. I contacted the manufacturer's customer service department and the technician was unable to provide a solution and had the same problem with the model he put together. We will not be using this crib.
