I've bought this specific product multiple times for my household because of the many benefits and the zero alcohol. When we use it is definitely less intense taste than other products in the same category given still the same if not more benefits than the this one
I prefer mouthwash zero alcohol. Listerine total care is everything I need for a mouthwash. Price is affordable for the quality. I feel ny mouth clean and fresh after use.
I like this Listerine mouthwash, I have a bigger bottle and today I got this little bottle from my dental hygienist. It's 95 ml (3.2 Fl Oz), it's air travel approved size, TSA compliant. It has fresh mint flavor. It doesn't burn my mouth. It killed bad breath bacteria. It helps prevent cavities. My mouth feels fresh and clean. I like this size than the bigger one as it's more convenient to use. I like this mouthwash.
I love Listerine brand mouthwash and recently I have been using the zero alcohol one to avoid the burn and after feeling of using the mouthwash. I wanted something that was just as effective to kill the germs but with less harshness to my mouth.
So I bought this product a month ago and I didn't realise it was the alcohol free version. I only noticed it was alcohol free when I used it for the first time and it didn't really have that intense burning feeling which the original Listerine has. So I was like ohhh woww… This must be some innovation. Little did I know I was settling for a complete disaster. My mouth started peeling off. I lost my sense of taste for a whole month. I had thick white mucus like substances coming out from my mouth. When I lost my sense of taste I thought I had COVID. I never really thought all these symptoms were caused by this product so I kept using it until it became unbearable and I decided to google side effects of Listerine and then I stumbled on this page. I'm irritated at the Listerine company. I hate them. This is so bad. There are terrible reviews as old as five years ago so I don't understand why you guys still sell this product. Find attached a photo of the white flabs which were coming out from my mouth.
My dentist specifically recommended this. I've used it for a few days and each day skin peels from my inner cheeks and lips in large quantities - more every time I use it. This is not as “uncommon” a side effect as Listerine reps have noted. It's common. Just look at the reviews. I wish I could return this product but the sink drain will have to do.
I've only been using this for three days and discovered strings of skin trapped above my gums each day within an hour or so of using it. Very disappointing because I otherwise liked the product. This just doesn't seem safe and it's super gross to be pulling strings of skin out of your mouth! A quick google shows that this is basically a universal problem with this product, and has been for years. Not sure what Listerine could be thinking, but the formula obviously needs to be changed. An NIH article from 2019 points to SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) as the culprit, so maybe take that out?? Listerine: you know this is a problem, so why not address it?
I bought a multipack of these as my usual bulk buy mouthwash was out of stock at the time, and man, since I've been using this mouthwash, the soft tissues in my mouth peel after use for hours each time. It's a bit of a non-issue for me because of my situation but it's incredibly annoying to have to spend a good few hours pulling peeled skin out of my mouth. And after reading other reviews, I'm now seeing it's been an issue for years. Never buying Listerine again, that's for sure.
I purchased this product about three days thinking it would improve my oral health. After the first try, what is known as slough began to occur in small amounts, but tonight I also experienced an almost uncontrollable amount, along with mouth sores and dry lips. I am not sure if only this variety does it, but in my twenty plus years of using Listerine products, I've never experienced this until this week. God forbid a child were to go through this and were unaware of what was happening. I'm still taken aback but judging by this thread, this version should have done more advertising on the side effects in the same bold, large sized lettering as the alcohol free alternative option.
I used this twice over 2 days and large clumps of gum skin are peeling off. The skin keeps coming off and I'm not sure how to stop it now. Won't be using this mouthwash anymore.
