when i first used the new cutting heads they seemed not to cut even as well as the old ones i threw away but after a month they seem to be cutting much better and the shave is now very close/smooth. not sure why this is the case but...oh well...it works
This replacement head is very difficult to clean. Not nearly as able for cleaning as the original Shaving head. In comparison to the original shaving head , it is extremely different and a real disappointment. With this kind of replacement I probably will not purchase this model of shaver,,although I loved the original. Tom Mull
The older RQ12 is a better performer than the RQ12+. The new one tends to pull the hairs as opposed to actually cutting them off. The older version is way better as far as comfort of the shaving experience goes. If my wife had not of thrown the old RQ12 head away, I would have changed back to the older version and had the blades sharpened. I just like the old version lots better. I have used the 1250C Sensor Trac3d since it was originally introduced. LOVE IT.
The blades do not shave as close as the original blades. The original blades cut a lot closer. The orange fasteners are cumbersome to remove and fasten.
I did everything I could to buy the correct replacement blades, using correct part numbers etc. I was sent a set of blades that were similar but not the same. The new blades don't shave as well as the original blades and cost almost what I paid for a new razor. This is my second Philips razor and will probably be my last. The new razors kits are fine out of the box but replacing the heads with new ones is not only costly but they don't work as well either.
I just reordered heads for my Shaver. They are not nearly as good as the old models that came with it several years ago. The collar that attaches the head to the shaver is now made of plastic; whereas the old model was made of metal. The difference is that the new version falls off the shaver quite regularly. Bad redesign.
The RQ12+ replacement head is no comparison to the original RQ12. This new head, in my opinion, is terrible. It feels like it is pulling every hair on my face as I shave and makes my face red. Never had these problems with the RQ12. Please bring back the original!!!!!!! I will have to get rid of this shaver if this continues.
The new blades i received SH50 did not give me a close clean shave as have the past blades i replaced at 6 month interval. After close examination i noticed the new blades are narrower and do not have the brass/copper spring attached to the second cutter. See photo. Can i get the ones with the older design. This is the first time in over 35 yrs that after replacing the blades it felt worse then the older one. Thanks
this replacement blade unit does not cut as well as the original 3 head unit. it misses a lot of the longer beard hairs uncut & misses many of the hairs under the chin & at the base of the neck. in fact this replacement unit isn't the same as the original, it's a completely different design. I have used Philips/Norelco razors for forty years and I must say that I am disappointed with the performance of this shaver head and with the SensoTouch 3D 1250X. I find that I must run the shaver over the same spot several times, particularly on the jaw line, to achieve a clean shave. Though familiar with Philips/Norelco shavers, with this shaver head I am constantly trying to adjust the pressure and stroke on my face to achieve the desired results. This shaver head truly makes shaving a chore.
