Had problems before in house. With Netgear plp2000 my house for the first time, I've got Wifi everywhere now even outside my house. Amazing works great, very satisfied.
A significant improvement over my Powerline 200's that I have been using for several years. The signal is much better with fewer interruptions.
It literally took me more time to open the box and remove all the devices then it did to actually install them. It is literally plug-in and it starts working. I did a speed test, and it is 70% faster than Wi-Fi.
Device works well. Easy set up. Device blocks grounded use of 2nd plug on wallplate but permits use by non-grounded 2 prong plugs. High cost is prohibitive.
I was struggling to find a way to extend my internet to our detached shop/garage located over 120 feet from the house. I plugged a wireless router into each powerline network extender and it worked beautifully after I programmed each router to run on the same network without interfering with one another. So far I'm very pleased.
This product was defective as only one unit worked. Sent back and received a refund with no problems. Purchased another unit not through Walmart.com. Customer service and return was excellent. The product itself, when both units work is excellent. I have noticed a stronger signal and increased internet speed using this product. I recommend this product and this business promoted through walmart.com. I do this because the no hassle return policy, the speed of the refund and if the item was not defective on delivery - it would exceed my expectations as I have purchased one locally.
Why isn't there a 'utility' that works for these units? The utility I just downloaded and installed on Win 10 Pro, does not detect the powerline units. Ver D 3.1.0.4 Even TP-Link have a utility that works for their powerline units, and I can even 'see' the Netgear units on that utility... but can't deploy or change anything... (like the name)...
It seems to work pretty well although I did have to restart it after a month when it wouldn't stay connected. My biggest complaint is the design of the product. I wish the plug would rotate so that it wouldn't take up an entire outlet. There is one plug in the front but the product covers up the second plug in the wall outlet.
The PL2000 did what it was advertised to do However, I could not make it coexist with my existing mesh system, which I still need, and neither the supplied instructions nor Netgear's web site were any help, so I must return the item.
This is a very simple way to provide internet access to a device that is out of range of the primary router. I plugged it in and it worked. However, in the process, it disabled my Wi-Fi. I could have one or the other but not both, and nothing in the included documentation nor on Netgear's web site offered a solution. So I returned the PLP-2000 and am looking for a more expensive mesh system.
