I like it!

I just bought this product yesterday, and after my husband and I put it together, I hopped on it, and I got a work out! The resistance isnt that tough, but it just reminded us of riding a bike outside. The price was right, for budget. We have the bowflex at home, and this is a nice way to warm up and cool down. You shouldn't look at bikes as a whole work out. Its just cardio! The settings are easy, and it is especially good for beginners!

One thing to remember is not to pinch those wires in the console. They are really sensitive to the being piched when you are putting machine together. Also you cannot truly punish this machine like the health clubs machine. It seems to be more for marathon riding not interval training.

Not that bad

Although I bought this item before reviewing it, I think that you get what you pay for. It's a cheaper bike, so you aren't going to get that many options. One thing I was disappointed about was the condition my bike came in. I had my husband put it together and it had many scratches and dings in it. If you are looking for a true spinning bike, you should not buy this bike. If you are looking for an upright bike for a decent workout, I would recommend this bike.

If you are looking at purchasing this bike, I would suggest you keep shopping for something else. Cons: 1) VERY uncomfortable seat (my wife wont even ride it) 2) Magnetic resistance is blotchy and inconsistent. Often slips. 3) Poorly designed pedals. Cannot wear shoes when riding this bike. Your shoes will hit the pedal mounts on every rotation. (Very frustrating) Pros: None that I can think of...

If you are a beginner and looking for cardio work this bike will do the job. It does not provide a lot of resistance nor does the training programs. But if you are looking for cardio and would rather do it in the house in front of the television or if you are unable to ride a regular bike outside due to the weather than this is the bike for you.

My bike arrived with parts missing; they were cosmetic parts, but this still irked me. Constructing the bike was simple, and the instructions were organized and easy to follow. Any liking for the bike disappeared after I rode it. I seriously recommend that you not buy this if you are of mild to average strength. The highest resistance this bike offers is laughable. It's display is easy to operate, but doesn't offer much to choose from. It has several training programs. Again however, if you have any strength in your legs, you'll barely notice the difference in resistance as the bike cycles through the program. I tried riding the bike for 30 minutes, but the seat was too uncomfortable for me to ride it for more than 10 minutes at a time. If you're looking for a solid but inexpensive bike, I suggest spending an extra $200 on a Schwinn recumbent stationary bike. It's solid, offers great resistance, and is very comfortable.

Disappointment

This bike was an extreme disappointment. Apparently it's worth the money to spend a bit more for an excercise bike. The computer system worked for about one day before it stopped, and the seat is extremely uncomfortable because it is so hard and the fact that it wobbles a lot. Apparently the shaft that connects the seat to the main part of the bike was cheaply made so it does not connect very well making it wobble while you are attempting to ride it.

The assembly was a bit annoying, since it felt like that some parts do not fit very well unless you put some elbow grease into them. But the worse part was when I discovered that the console wasn't working correctly, which means I couldn't control tension or see any speed readouts. In general, I felt that it was more like a 40 dollar bike with a 100 dollar Gold's Gym label. Avoid this one.

Horrible bike

I can't believe that Gold's Gym would allow their brand name to be used on a product like this. Construction is cheap. There is no resistance at the highest setting. And there is minimal adjustments for comfort. Peddle away from this one as fast as you can.

Poorly Manufactured Product

I actually got this as a replacement for another Golds Gym product that broke after all of two weeks of use. I really liked the pre-programmed workout feature and thought what are the odds that two of these products in a row would be practically useless. Well apparently the odds were really high. The magnetic resistance mechanism on the previous bike totally failed and the peddles would barely move. There were also these horrible grinding sounds. It was broken. When I got this replacement home before even assembling it I checked to make sure there were no problems with the turning of the peddles. This thing was BROKEN right out of the box. I took it back and just took the cash. The original bike was a Christmas present from my parents (I wanted a stationary bike its not like they're mean). My parents don't have a lot of money and this was a big expense for them. This really has me angry. I wouldn't recommend ANY Golds Gyms products. They are of incredibly poor quality.
