I needed another riser to complete a training setup for a trike. The new one perfectly matched the old bought 6-7 years ago. I couldn't be more satisfied.

I've had the Climbing Riser Block since I purchased my PowerTap five years ago. I love it. Easy to adjust incline for your training sessions. I live in the mountains and climb all summer. It's nice to be able to put the additional load on your legs during the training season. You can also ride it in the flat position when warming up or getting ready for at TT. This unit is a nice complement to the PowerTap.
This Climbing Block is a MUST HAVE if you have a trainer. Otherwise, you bike is sitting at a decline. You can choose which height you want the front of your bike by selecting a different groove to put your front tire in. Multiple blocks can be stacked together as well, so take your friends and use it, because he isn't! Durable and doesn't slide around.
I ride the trainer a lot, like half my hours annually. I've raced every season for over 30 years and I started using a trainer the second year I raced. I'll do up to 5.5 hour rides on the trainer and many/most of my trainer rides in the last 10 or so years are 90-120 minutes long. Part of what makes for a pleasant trainer ride is solid support for the front tire/wheel. This block is my favorite, and I've tried a few. It's really solid and strong (a different block I tried collapsed), it's wide enough not to rock or move, and even on some exercise mats (my trainer/block sit on exercise mats) it makes the bike feel like it's anchored to the floor. I don't use the climbing feature so I typically have the tire in the lowest / level tire well.
These climbing blocks are a simple design that is simple to use, stackable and very sturdy/stable plastic. You need to purchase either at least one climbing block or one level with your trainer to level out the front wheel of your bike. The store I went to didn't sell the levels that are on this site, so I bought the climbing block. A benefit of the climbing block is you can purchase multiple blocks which stack up for a uphill workout. I've used mine for over 3 years and it is still in perfect condition. Easy to clean too.

I recently purchased the SARIS Climbing Riser Block and I am very happy with it. It keeps my bike sturdy and in place while I spin. If you are contemplating getting it, you SHOULD! You can adjust the block (simply by turning it) and it will raise or lower the height of your bike.
If you own a trainer (it doesn't matter the brand...) you need a riser block. This is one of those invaluable pieces of equipment that will help to make your training rides more comfortable, plus it'll make the front end of your bike more stable, as this pretty firmly keeps the front wheel from twisting during hard efforts.
Back in dinosaur days, I leveled my bike on the training stand with a 2x4. It worked, but there weren't any options. Today, Cycleop's climbing block has plenty of competition, but it stands alone in stability. It's the perfect match to my Fluid2 trainer.
