First time use of Windows Phone

I have had this phone for 2 weeks and am quite impressed. It has a good display and I really like the "live tiles". The phone call quality is very good. Coming from Android, this phone doesnt have as many apps but calling, texting, taking pictures and calendering are excellent. Couple of hints. Look for Surfy in Windows store, best browser, make sure you put in a microsd card and have everything go on it instead of the phone, and most importantly..if you press and hold the back button, it will show you what is open like in android.

I'm currently on a Lumia 635 with a StraightTalk chip. When and if ATT releases this phone as a GoPhone, I am sold. Much better specs than my 635 and $150 or less is within my range. I would recommend that anyone using a Windows 8 desktop or notebook take a close look at this cell. The 635 is already a great phone. Stepping up to the 640 is a no brainer.

Switching over from a blackberry q10, I am quite impressed with this keyboard. It's the first time I've ever said that about a touch screen keyboard. I have tried Android and IOS and think they are ok, but this phone just "clicks" with me. The camera is a little bit confusing at first, but just keep trying... the photos come out great! All of the apps i need are available in the store, and the battery life is great. I ordered the flip open Microsoft case, and am looking forward to trying it out. Take an hour or two to set this phone up right and you will not regret your purchase!

We have two Lumia 920s, which are great phones. This is my second 640 (my first one came to a sudden end due to my carelessness). I bought this 640 as a backup work phone to my Apple 5S. I find it much easier to use. Has all the features I need. Works well. Between the SD card and OneCloud no storage issues. Decent camera. All the apps that I need (granted my needs are more focused than most). The restore function works flawlessly. Overall very happy. The only complaint I have is the relatively short battery life, but I typically carry an emergency charger in my pocket that easily keeps me going all day. Good phone.

I had used android and windows phones before. I have been using Lumia 635 , but it did not have flash. That was the only complain i have on that. So I went and bought 640. The biggest plus point in windows phones are No junk apps to kill your phone performance and battery. Clean and simple OS. Most of the phones are coming with no expansion slots for memory and non-removable battery. But this phone is give all freedom. This phone does everything you need to do with ease and speed.

Why Buy iPhone?

Worth the price just to be free from iTunes. And it's NICE! This phone will show you just how much they're overcharging for the iPhone, and how much iOS has stolen from Windows mobile. With Windows 10 you'll have a five star phone all day, especially when more developers port apps over with the tool Microsoft has made available.

Phone is light easy to handle and carry, after using Android phones for 8 years it took just a little getting used to and a chance I gave the phone and I am glad I did.The screen is great 297 pixels per inch, sharp images and the windows operating system is fine and smart. The phone looks good to not drab and somber serious , bright and new.

I replaced my Iphone 5 with this phone, and am running Windows10 preview. The new OS is great, and the phone has some great pre-installed apps. The only complaint I might have is that being a budget phone, it takes a little longer to open apps. Once they are open and running though there are no speed issues. Battery life is exceptional, and I can always get through a whole day of heavy use without a recharge.

lumia 640 for the price is the best low/midrange phone there is. it even beats the upcoming acatel ferice, and lumia 650 win 10 phones in processing power. there qualcom 210 vs the qualcom 400 in the 640. it supports nfc, vpn, blue tooth 4.0, wifi calling, glance screen, double tap to wake and close. its fast, responsive, and scrolls smoothly. slap in an micro sd for up to 128 gb of storage. the battery life is very good and it's replacable. the screen and interface totaly custimizable with live tiles.and looks beautiful. using the lumia play to app I can stream video, music, and pictures strait to my home theater system wirelessly. it dose more than models 2 to3 times as expensive. the only down side on this phone is the front side camera it works fine for skype but the pictures are grainy in low light conditions. and lack of apps which should change.the 640 is one of the first to get the windows 10 mobile upgrade. you can take exellent pictures with this device even in lowlight if you bother to use manual controls. the lumia camera software is top notch. features like rich capture and, lumia moments, are good for camera novices. and the lumia selfie app is great for using the 8 mp rear camera to take selfies. you cant go wrong with this device.if you hear complaints its because they got a faulty device or dont understand how to use it. better get em while they last.
