other than delivery person NOT putting it anywhere near my door. but at end of my long driveway where it could have been stolen. this happens often with Walmart delivery!! be it fed ex!! they don't follow direction
This lid is a perfect fit to the 10 in lodge grill pan. Works great!
These work for sandwiches and steaks, especially if you run into the rare person that likes a well done steak or to cook a rare or medium-rare steak really quickly. They're heavy duty cast iron, so a light wipe with olive oil or bacon grease when you're done keeps them ready for the next use.
I've only used one time, but combined with the Lodge grill pan it makes fantastic grilled cheese sandwiches. I added a bit of cooking oil to both before using. I buttered the outsides of the bread and placed the cheese between them. Pre-heated the pan and press. Cooked on medium heat, checking frequently as it was my first attempt at this. Great tasty results.
I actually use this for steak, grilled cheese sandwiches, all kinds of things I put it in the oven to preheat while I prep whatever with the top grid and then take it out to put on the burner perfect grill marks and every clean up every time! I love this pan
GREAT FOR PRESSING BURGERS , ECT
Inside is hollow like a cooking lid. So this might be good for after smashing then covering the burgers with these.
I was expecting a flat press. This one has a 1/4” lip on it that keeps it from making bacon flat but it works great for burgers.
We wanted to use for smash burger, but inside is not completely flat like we thought, so we decided on a different one
this is not a bigger press. it is constructed more like a lid to a pot. it has a large rim around the bottom side that limits the ability to press a burger. The thinnest you could possibly get on a burger is 5/16 of an inch , which is way too thick for a smash burger. do yourself a favor, and either buy a different brand or buy their bacon press and just use it for your burgers.
